Hey all,

I’ve got a ‘18 JL Rubicon and am looking to do a westbound trip around & through the Colorado Rocky Mountains after my wedding in late April. Think of it as a honeymoon given the current state of the....world? lol...

Anyway, looking for basic to moderate upgrades to prepare the rig for the trip. I was thinking more practical but am open to anything from mechanical to camping. The rig is bonestock at 29k miles and oil changes done on my end. I obviously don’t plan on taking routes that are Uber technical but won’t shy away from novice to moderate type stuff. I essentially want to prep the thing to a heavy duty status and below are some ideas I had. Any help would be awesome, up to and including trail suggestions and places to stay and/or camp!

  • Upgraded pads (same HD brake rotors and system)
  • More efficient equipment for a tire swap on the trail
  • Cooler to be used by HD electrical system?
  • Camp setup (internally or rooftop)
  • New tires or beat the OEM BFG KO2s like they owe me money?
  • Non CCW firearm transport for security (from IL) when camped. Assuming standard deal of unloaded, state compliant mag/weapon format/blah blah blah?
  • What else????....
