Good question. Been thinking about this too. Thinking of 6.4 hemi swap as well. Depends on the type of wheeling you do and transfer case gearing. With a 4:1 Rubicon and a hemi you should be able to get away with 4.88 and have power band great on the highway as well a enough grunt in the rocks, or if you don't mind higher rpm on highway go 5.13 with a hemi.Mainly asking those running 40's already. 4.88, 5.13, or 5.38? Thanks!
Are you still happy you went with 5.13? How's the shifting on the auto - does it go into 8 speed on hwy?Mainly asking those running 40's already. 4.88, 5.13, or 5.38? Thanks!
That's with 40s and stock ruby axles? What’s up dcam!? Super happy w the 5.13s. Shifting wise, it feels like when I had the stock 33s... so yes, 8th gear def comes back!
Awesome Jeep love the Nitto’s I’m not going 40s but wondering with a 6speed and 40s would you go 5.13’s or 5.38’sNegative on stock axles. I’m running Currie axles.
NICE! Curious as to how it drives now with the weight of the Currie 60s. Can you feel a difference, motor peppiness still there?Negative on stock axles. I’m running Currie axles.
Go with 5.38.....I have 40's on 1 Tons and see the full range of my gears often....both on road and off. The Jeep can climb steep road grades with ease at 70+Upgrading to Dana 60s, what gear ration for highway driving and weekend wheeling?
4.88 or 5.13?
