Hi All,

A newer member to the forum. I have a 2019 JLUR. My second jeep and i'm loving every second of it. I live in the Southeastern PA area and am looking for any insight on good trails or offroading in the area. I know of AOAA and Rausch creek, but was more so looking for state parks, forest areas etc... I'm open to driving out of state, but love off roading with a purpose/destination, so a state park or somewhere with scenery would be awesome. Does anyone from the area know of any good areas to visit?

Thanks for the links! I never heard of Purple Lizard, but just like OP I was wondering about some trails to look into for the spring/summer. It looks like they have some good guides for places near me (Ohiopyle/Laurel Highlands). Thanks again!

I'm another newbie, eagerly awaiting delivery of my first Jeep, a JLR!

While I can't give specifics, there are trails in the Jersey Pine Barrons friends have told me about. Very sandy and some deep water areas. I'm sure others on this forum could provide more info.

Their maps are great. If you like to hike, bike, climb and camp they have everything you need to get out and explore.

We did 100 miles over 2 days in Rothrock State Forest using the maps and Gaia. Lots of great hikes and views. Make sure to get to as many of the spots marked with the Purple Lizard on the map.

Wow this is great feedback! Knew about Gaia, but knew nothing about PurpleLizard. The maps look awesome and I never knew these places in PA even existed. I'm from Southeast PA, so the above state parks sounds awesome and i'm sure there are some others in DE, NJ and MD that have similar off roading experiences.

Keeping this thread alive. I use to run around Bald Eagle State Forrest as well. Check out Old Shingle Road and Negro Hollow Road. It's decent stuff that I wouldn't want to tackle in anything less than a stock Wrangler. My profile pic was taken there.

Not my video but around 7:30 you can see some of it. There can be deep water spots (1-2 ft)that there are no way around other than through unless you want to do some serious bushwhacking.
