I've been running the @NextDan Aluminum bumper for awhile now and I like it.. I often bounce it off big rocks and hasn't deformed either.

How Many miles have you toad with the barricade aluminum bumper ?
How is it holding up ?
Are you pulling the directly from the D ring mounts? What tow-bar?
The structure looks quite sturdy with the big fat steel backing plate mounted directly to frame.
You should NEVER tow from the bumper in fact Mopar specifically says do not do it, I realize that some do with no issue however Mopar also say their bumper frame plate that the bumper attaches to is not designed to handle that kind of constant stress (it is just a thin sheet metal plate held to the frame with 4 small 1" welds, While I have the Barricade Aluminum bumper I still have a Blue OX Tow Plate which is the safest way to tow a Wrangler. It is critical that your connection point is directly to the frame itself not the plate the bumper bolts too.

Feel free to contact Mopar yourself regarding bumper towing they will tell you the same. In fact there are countless aftermarket bumper manufactures of which only 2-3 offer a bumper that has two connections, however those are all very small small shops (Rockhard and LOD) making bumpers and they are knowingly going against Mopars position. The major bumper players as well as resellers all agree you should not bumper tow.. This is also why LOD now makes a frame attached Tie In Bracket that actually ties the bumper mount to the frame and not just the frame plate.

According to the Quadratec website, the weight of their new bumpers is ~71 Lbs for the full width and ~64 Lbs for the stubby.
D-Rings for both bumpers are not rated for flat towing.

No bumper is rated (or approved by Mopar) to tow from the D-rings as bumpers are not directly attached to the frame only a thin face plate on the end of the bumper held by four small 1" welds. However with the Frame tie in plate pictured above you can. With that said you can tow with any bumper (including any of the Aluminum) as that tie in plate will tie the D-ring to the frame.

Savvy’s bumper for the JL requires frame cutting, so no thanks.
