Dealer installed. I knew I wanted them when I bought it, so it was worked into the sale/price at initial purchase. Turned out great: the switch is hidden on the lower front of the seat, two settings and they put out serious heat. No wrinkles or any visual or tactile clues that anything’s been changed.

It’s the only modification I’ve paid someone else to do on my Jeep. I’m a heavy duty mechanic by trade, but I didn’t want to learn how to reupholster seats or have it look like it was “amateur hour” when it was done.

$600 CAD total. Worth every penny if it keeps the GF warm and happy

This was one of the first things I did so all subsequent pics are with the sound deadening material installed. There is no difference in how the carpet lays or how it feels, other than all road noise and wheel noise is completely gone and the interior immediately felt more comfortable. This was the single best improvement I did for the money.

I'm hoping someone will sell improved gaskets for the doors and freedom panels so they seal tighter, but, it's a Jeep so it's never going to be as quiet as a conventional car...however, I tested my Subaru Forester on the same road, at the same speed and it was coming up at 77db and I have this down to 69db,
Stephen,
Did you insulate the inside of the doors as well?

You mentioned "Boom Mat", can you elaborate exactly what you used and where? There are multiple products with this name.

I did not sound proof the doors too, I might one day. The white boom mat is the one that goes along the hardtop from freedom panels to the back but not the one that also covers the sides of the hardtop, again, that might be something I add one day, but I’m really happy with how it all turned out.
When it comes to sound deadening, cover every square inch of the floor from front to back and use a hard roller to force the material flat and ensure it continues to all the grooves.

I put foot pegs on in the summer when doorless. Then when I wear shorts, I can hang my leg out just a little and get a nice blast of cool air up my shorts. That's probably the best comfort mod I've made in any vehicle!

Added seat warmers/heaters in both front seats.

bought watercarbon brand seat warmers. $105 for the pair.

this was a full day project!! Took 8 hours! I put the switches in the center console in front of the 4wd shifter and on the passenger side face for the passenger one.

I like the warmers, they’re not very fast to heat up but that may be because the fabric is so thick. Get yourself a good quality angles hog ring pliers. Here are a few pics. Seats were a bear so be patient and you’ll get them back to new without looking like they’ve been stripped.

Does the wind noise seem more pronounced now that the rest of the cabin is quieter?

yes, I would say it certainly seems that way.
