My wife bought the Mopar 82215182AC on Black Friday for a great deal (229.99). Has anyone installed this winch plate? I was looking at the install instructions and in steps 12-20 it says to replace the OEM fog light bezel and 5mph bumper stops with larger pieces similar to the steel bumper unit showed at SEMA. I plan on skipping this step and wanted to know if anyone else has done that?

Interesting. The Mopar winch plate kit was not available when I installed mine, and I bet it was because they were still working out these 5 MPH bumpers. Can you post some photos of the new parts?

I wonder if this is designed like this to prevent damage to the winch in a 5 MPH crash, or if it is extended just to clear the added depth of the tow hook.

I installed the Mopar AC kit on my 2020 Gladiator Rubicon steel bumper this last weekend. I also just skipped these steps, as I also assumed they were unnecessary modifications. The winch went on fine, although the Warn Zeon 10S is a snug fit and it does just barely touch the bottom of the grille surround. You should be ok! I’d be interested to hear other members stories Relating to this kit and/or see their “after” pics. Good luck!

Did the fairlead hawse bolts that came with the Warn work fine or did you have to get new bolts?

Any install tips?

An aside: does the Mopar winch plate connect between the bumper and frame bolts? The WARN unit is sandwiched between the frame and bumper, making the bumper stick out 1/4" further than it did stock.

I've also wondered how this differs from the warn plate. Looks like you got a good deal on price. Doesn't this thing MSRP at like 450$ or something. I was super curious how its different.

The bolts that came with the winch did work to attach the fairlead plate and fairlead to the bumper. This winch plate is a bit more expensive than competitors, but I liked the idea of keeping mopar parts on my Jeep. This kit has L shaped brackets that mount inside of the frame on the bumper bolts. So, the bumper does not stick out any further, with the exception of the bump stops if you do steps 21-30 or so. I skipped those steps because I didn’t see the need to make that adjustment. I think that change is just to make the bump stops stick out further than the winch fairlead. Since this winch plate doesn’t push the bumper out any further, the skid plate goes back on without any issues, which is a plus compared to the Warn winch plate. I will say it’s a tight fit though and the Warn Zeon 10s rests right up against the grill when done. There’s a bit more room in front of the winch, although there wasn’t much wiggle room for the install. I’m going to change the fairlead this weekend to a black one and so I didn’t completely tighten all the interior bumper bolts that are harder to get to. I will do those all the way this weekend after I change out the fairlead. We’ll see if that has any effect on the final resting place of the winch. The bumper needs to be removed to change the fairlead, due to winch plate limiting access from the inside of the bumper where the fairlead bolts mount to the bumper, so I didn’t want to double work the inside bolts, which tend to be a tight fit for adjustments after the winch is installed. I’ll complete the full install this weekend and will update you guys with more photos and comments.

On a side note... I love the way the winch looks in the stock bumper! I was on the fence about installing a winch on this Jeep, but a I’m glad I did it now. I had a winch on my 2010 JK Rubi, but not on my more recent 2014 JK Rubi. I loved having it on the 2010 JK, but didn’t really miss it either on the 2014 JK. I was tempted to save the money and not do a winch, but my wife surprised me and bought the 10s for me for Christmas and my brother got me the Mopar winch plate, so I couldn’t let them go to waste! LoL

My wife and I installed the plate and winch today. Here are my tips.
1. Follow the directions.
2. Install all parts, plate and bumper without winch and torque everything except L bracket bolts and inner bumper bolts and align the winch plate using the extra bolts through fairlead bolt holes.
3. Loosen L brackets partially so you can remove bumper but only loosen so the end of the bot is flush with captive nut. Remove bumper.
4. Install winch and torque to spec.
5. Reinstall bumper, tighten inner bumper bolts the tighten L brackets using wobbly extensions. I used 3 wobbly extensions for a total of 19inches to tighten these.
6. Install winch fairlead last bolting through hawse, accessory plate, bumper and then winch plate. If you followed directions and pushed winch plate against bumper in step 2 then everything bolts up nice and tight.

Like the look of that winch with the Factor 55 fairlead. Did the Warn fairlead bolts work with the Factor fairlead or did you have to get longer bolts? The Warn winch plate it looks like they have mounts for a front license plate. Doesn’t look like the Mopar winch plate hardware addresses the front license mount - is that correct? Do you have one installed? Thanks for any guidance as I am debating the Warn vs the Mopar plate. Like that the Mopar plate doesn’t move the front bumper out but I will still need a front license plate.

The Warn bolts fit perfectly. The Mopar plate does not come with the license plate mount. We are going to use the Maximus Stealth plate mount. The Warn is much cheaper unless you can find a sale at JEGS which is what my wife did, but between the Mopar winch plate, Mopar fairlead plate and Maximus license plates mount it’s much more expensive. My wife wanted as many Mopar Accessories as possible and 100% bolt on so we overlooked the cost which ended up being $100 more than the Warn setup.

I am looking at the Mopar winch plate and it looks like you had no issue with the winch being too close to the grill? Also wanted to confirm that I will need the Mopar centered fairlead plate? Thanks!

I did not have an issue with clearance. You will need a fairlead plate. The Mopar plate is flat and does not fit the curve of the bumper exactly. I switched out to the Warn plate that someone was selling. It’s curved to fit the bumper better.

The Mopar fairlead plate can be bent pretty easily to match the curvature of the bumper. The fairlead on the other hand... I could only get mine slightly curved with a 6-ton press & some heat. I settled on curving the Mopar plate somewhere in between the fairlead and bumper's curvature.
