If you have an Alien, it actually makes no contact with the sunshade. If you have a JTops, it touches slightly in the center, but not enough to lift it.I ignored this quite a few times because I didn't really want to hang things there but seeing your post sparked a thought. Does it help keep the sunshade up in a higher position? I love the utility of my sunshade but I hate that it touches my head when the freedom panels are on. It looks like this would lift it just enough to keep it up and off my head.
I have a JTops like yours. I was so excited to take it out this fall. I want to put it back in the spring but might not if I don’t find a good solution to combat the sag when the freedom tops are onIf you have an Alien, it actually makes no contact with the sunshade. If you have the aux switches you can wire the halos directly to that, and turn them on and off whenever you want. I've also seen people run them to a separate empty fuse to be "always on" with the vehicle, which requires no dealer flash. Lastly if your flash is gonna cost $300, you're better off buying a tazer JL or flashcal and doing it yourself, plus you'll get to do dozens of other programing options.Turns out the halos don’t work. The plug-and-play part is only for the regular headlights. If I want the halos to work, I need to remove the fender liners, lay new wiring into the cabin through the firewall, etc., etc. And it needs a dealer flash to activate the halos. Not so plug-and-play after all...grrr!
Had I known what I know now, I’d have skipped these Mopar LEDs and gotten something else. There have to be aftermarket alternatives that are easier to install, work well, look just as good and cost less.
Now I have ask the dealer how much to make the halos work. Based on the amount of time and work I see, I’m guessing $300 just in labor.

Was looking at these, did you have to remove all the plastic and undo the lights from the inside of the jeep to mount the cages?I installed these Rugged Ridge tail light guards. Got a good deal on them. They are very well made and fit perfectly, although the install instructions weren’t very good.
The entire JL tail light assembly is kind of funky; gone are the days when things simply bolted onto a Wrangler. But it wasn't a difficult install by any means.
Yes. The tail lights are bolted from inside. I guess for security reasons given that an LED tail light with the built-in blind spot monitor sensors can be pretty pricey. Was looking at these, did you have to remove all the plastic and undo the lights from the inside of the jeep to mount the cages?
I did the remap button function on the sway bar, I just push the resume button on the steering wheel to disconnect and connect, it stays disconnected at speed, which I really like. Was looking at these, did you have to remove all the plastic and undo the lights from the inside of the jeep to mount the cages?
Also installed the Tazer JL Mini, love how easy it is, you just leave it installed and can instantly lock your lockers and disconnect your sway in 2hi, 4hi, etc. Great easy must have!
