Hello All,

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions received thus far. It is greatly appreciated!

Before I pull the trigger and purchase new tires, I need some advice on wheels....I am trying to decide between 17" and 18". What is the consensus on the two sized wheels? Other than the look and the available tires (apparently more running 17s), are there any issues with running 18s instead of 17s for a Jeep that will see little off roading for the time being?

Also, if I get --12 off set and 4.5 backspacing, will I need any spacers to prevent any issues running 35s on a 2019 JLU Rubicon?

Thanks for your help!!!

Many more tire options for 17s. 4.5" backspacing should work fine.

You will find a greater selection of tires for 17-inch wheels, plus they cost less.

I retained the 18-inch wheels when I upgraded to 33-inch tires, mostly because I love the OE Sahara wheels. But a larger tire on a smaller wheel gives you more sidewall on the trail, which is normally the preferred “look” on an off-road vehicle.

Good luck!

Does the speedometer need to be recalibrated with the change to 35s?

Also, I was leaning toward Nitto Ridge Grapplers, but what are your thoughts on the Toyo Open Country MT vs. the Nitto for street driving primarily?

FWIW if you happen to go with 18s and happen to want 35" Falken AT3W (325/65R18) I was able to get 5 of them for $1558 from Discount Tire.

I pricematched walmart
Paid $220 for the tire replacement policy during the life of the tire since I plan to offroad the s out of them
Includes mount balance TPMS etc
Then DT is running a 10% rebate (easy enter online)
Out the door $1732 in CO w a $173 rebate coming on a mastercard
For a final price of $1558

I paired them with AX202s in 18" that I got from realtruck for $550 for 5.

Total package $2100!

It's a percentage...not a set number...JFYI; wouldn't want you getting a ticket on our account.
Tested and proven on my JLUR with 35's no lift. Setting my cruise control at 62 will have me travelling at 65MPH.

Apparently you aren't picking up what I'm putting down. :) I'm sure the OP will get my meaning.
No I got you. at 75 it will be off even more. With a 55MPH speed limit most people drive 10 over. Hence my 62 = 65MPH.

"Apparently you aren't picking up what I'm putting down." <--- My 13 year old daughter said that to me the other night and I lost my shit, my wife and I couldn't stop laughing.
