@Tritonman your build is one of my favorites on this forum. Debating doing the ceramic treatment too. Is it true that you can’t do automatic car washes once ceramic is applied?

Wow, thank you for the compliment, it is really appreciated.

As far as the ceramic coating is concerned, that is not true. You can take it to an auto wash but I don't recommend doing it as a regular method of cleaning. Its bad to do regardless of ceramic coating or not as it can leave small scratches or swirls. However, once in a while it is ok to do. I personally have taken mine to an auto wash on a few occassions and the coating is still solid. I also maintain the coating by doing a wash/clay bar/liquid ceramic spray twice a year. The ceramic coating is probably my most favorite mod of all. It makes keeping the jeep cleaner with less work and also provides some protection against scratches. I have taken the jeep offroad thru mud, water, rocks and tight trails and it still looks brand new. There are some very expensive ceramic coatings that actually self heal should you get minors scratches but the cost is very expensive.

If you maintain your coating it should last as long as its warrantied for. One of the common misconceptions is that if you have the coating there is no maintenance required. Its just a lot easier to wash and keep clean with less time spent.
