So some know I decided to take a chance and try this heavy duty tire carrier. There aren’t any reviews on it and a couldn’t find anyone who had it, but for $289 which is half the price if not more of the others I figured I’d give it a go.
I don’t do any rock crawling, but probably some trails and I’m only running 35’s so I figured I wouldn’t need something seriously beefy. And this is the first time I’ve ever installed one of these so I have nothing to base it on.

The install is straight forward and the instructions are mostly pretty good. A little vague as far as the shims were concerned but all and all pretty simple.

The only issues I had were because I have the Diabolical Slipstream I couldn’t remove the rear plastic without taking the top off and then taking apart the slipstream. I was able to get enough room to access the hinge bolts......even tho I did end up putting a small crack in the plastic.

The other issue I had was that when I removed the oem hinges the tailgate isn’t painted under them and the new carrier doesn’t cover that area. It wasn’t my first choice but the only thing I had was some satin black bumper paint I used in the areas. I didn’t want to leave it bare metal.

I’m went for a drive afterward (had to give RubySue a bath) and it is CONSIDERABLY quieter in the rear tailgate area. A lot less squeaking and rattling. Overall pretty happy with the product and how it turned out.

For that price that’s a heck of a product. I honestly have no idea how they can manufacture and ship it yet still be profitable! Good review, let us know how you like it as you use it more.

$289 free shipping and I got 5% military discount.

I forgot to mention this thing is heavily coated. I’m sure it’s probably made in China, and being a vet I hate that....but it is what it is..

We try to buy American made as much as possible but sometimes it’s just unavoidable. That said, they are turning out quality products for an affordable price and that’s hard to argue against.

@ColoJLRubi Thanks again for taking the plunge and for the thorough review. When I found that item it looked like a "too good to be true" type of product, but it sure sounds like it's worth the money and then some.

Ya, I think it’s well worth the $289 for the average daily driver/weekend trail guy.

Have a link to where you purchased it from? I’m a veteran as well, the discount and your write up swayed me. Thanks

I called them for the discount code you need to enter. When I entered it it showed the discount in my cart but charged the regular price. I just called them back and she credited my acct immediately.....good customer service.

Can you move tire up or down or is it a set location?

Great write up, thanks for the info. I have been looking at the rugged ridge one, waiting for the teraflex one

I also installed this bumper yesterday. Good quality and has tons of space in the read bumper.

Observations -
1. The left side tire bump stop did not touch the tire. Right one did touch.
2. I also installed Tyger rear bumper along with it.

I finally took the plunge and picked it up too. Installed it last weekend and clears a 37" with no issues on the stock bumper. So far so good, seems stable and strong. Time will tell I suppose, definitely worth the $289 though.
