We've shown you plenty of JL Wrangler prototypes, but they've all been spotted on the road, so this is a bit of a special sighting, even if it's no more revealing than previous spotting.

This camouflaged JLU prototype was spied testing its off-road chops in Moab, Utah. You can also see that the testing team has current Wranglers on hand for comparison/benchmarking.

Interesting! Must be the Rubicon model testing here.

Are there more pictures?

A video of it crawling up the rock would be awesome.

How far from Moab are you? Probably closer than all of us. Grab your video camera and report back :)

Ha ha ha I was debating that last night. I may be in the same state, but I'm still 200 miles away.

Now what I could do is keep an eye on the freeway near my house, odds are is it'll drive past me in the next few days...

I'm almost thinking this has to be an inside leak. The person taking the pic is obviously within view of the FCA engineers and don't seem bothered by it.

This!

A little video teaser from FCA of the prototype at Moab would get a ton of buzz. Why don't more companies do that?

I just saw a 2 door and a 4 door JL mules being followed by a couple of JK's going down the road this morning on my way to class. They were going south and I was headed north so I was a quick glance, but still. I can only assume they are here to test in Moab.

Seeing them in person, even for a short moment was awesome. The windshields looked way more visably racked back than what the pictures feel like.

I assume they were all cladded up, no?

Yeah they had the cameo just like we've seen in all the other pictures. It's actually what caught my attention, they stuck out from everything else.

If they didn't have any cameo on, I would have either crashed when I saw them, or I would have turned around to pursue after them to get pictures. Most likely both.

That's awesome! Lucky you. Ditch class and follow with a camera next time :)

Hmmmm, sounds like time for some fun. If I had a black JKU I'd camo it up, grab my camera, and join them!
