Got my eye on a set of Cooper Discoverer STT Pros but not sure of the size. I just finished the 2.5 lift so I am being told I can go with 35/12.5/17 on a 7.5 rim. Can anyone confirm this? Not looking to put wheel spacers.

You really want to run at least an 8.5" wide rim with 5" at most of backspacing.

I have the Mopar 2.5 lift and run stock rims with 35x12.5x17 BFG MT without spacers. Only the lightest rub on full lock left, nothing on right lock. So the wheel liners are just not even. Have about 10k miles on this..

Because your axles aren't centered from your Mopar "budget" lift.
I say "budget" here because Mopar does nothing to address geometry issues as a result of lift.
You might want to invest in an adjustable track bar.

What geometry issue? I am running 12.5 on 7.5 stock rims without a spacer or additional offset ... I was not sure if it would work, which is the OPs question. It does work and only has the slightest rub at full lock. No trackbar is going to correct that.

His point was it's not your wheel liners that are causing your rubbing on one side. It's the fact that your axle likely isn't centered.

technically........most tire manufacturers recommend 295/70 as max width tire for a 7.5" wide rim. 315/70/17 min rim width is 8". 8.5-9 would be better. Many have mounted 315's on stock Rubicon wheels........your choice of course but its not recommended.
I'm surprised so many tire shops will mount them on a rim width narrower than mfr spec.

What's the harm in putting a 35x12.5R18 on a 7.5" wheel when it calls for 8.5" width wheel at a minimum...sounds like many people are doing this...is this a safety issue or will the tire not wear as properly?
