I think a slight lift is in order for my Sport S with Rubi takeoff 33" tires. Does any one have any recommendations?

What I'm going for:
  1. Lift the bottom up a bit for better clearance off-road.
  2. Retain (or improve) on-road manners
  3. Improve ride off-road
  4. Look a bit more proportional. Wheel wells look a bit stuffed currently
Options considered:
  1. Mopar lift and upgrade to 35" tires. Seems like a bit extreme. I like the current tire size and peppy acceleration. However, this would look great and perform well off-road.
  2. Dynatrac Eurosport 2" lift. Seems like it'd be OK with 33's and is good quality. Probably need to adjust caster.
  3. Teraflex ST1. Seems about the height boost I'm looking for but it's just a spacer lift with new shocks, right?
  4. Rubi takeoff suspension. Cheapest and keeps it looking stock so less chance of disputes on warranty work.

I think you'd be good with options 1 or 4. With 1, it may look slightly weird if you end up keeping the 33s, but not overly so. But, it would also give you the option to upgrade to 35s later down the road easier, whereas I don't think just the Rubi suspension would allow that unless you also replaced your Sport fenders.

For comparison, mine is a Sport S with the Mopar lift and 35s, and I think it looks fantastic. Like you pointed out though, acceleration dropped a lot and I'll eventually get it re-geared.

Some people are saying the Mopar lift sucks and actually made their on road handling worse, I have no experience with it myself. I went with a Rock Krawler lift on my Sport with 35's but its a pricey option and seems like it may be a little bit more than you are looking for, but I do have to say it does awesome both on and off road.

I have 33’s on my sport. No problems on the street with this setup and no lift, but it did rub the rear flares off road.

For $350 total I got just under 2” of lift (1 & 7/8”), looks great:
$200 for Rubi springs and shocks (got just under 1.5” of lift).
$50 for 0.5” spacers at all 4 corners.
<$90 for Mopar extended lower control arms shipped p/n 68322798AA (not needed, but does make the steering feel better.

$50 for 4 spacers? Where and what brand? seems way cheap

Installed the Rubicon takeoffs springs and shocks on my 2018 JLU sport. The Rubicon springs numbers are 68253591aa, 68253592aa Rear and 68253661ac and 68253662ac Front. Along with the springs and shocks I also installed the Mopar 2 inch lift lower control arms number (82215398AB) and a Daystar 3/4 inch lift kit (DAYKJ09181BK) I also installed Rusty’s front track bar brace (RC-TB7500-JL). The change out took about 5 hours. I also had the jeep realigned and with the new lower control arms the caster came in at 6. The Jeep tracks straight and steers very well. Here are the height numbers before and after the install.

Before Right front 37 1/8 Left front 37 1/8 Right rear 37 1/2 Left rear 37 5/8

After Right front 39 1/4 Left front 39 1/4 Right rear 39 1/4 Left rear 39 3/8

A 2 inch lift using mostly Mopar parts. $200.00 for the Rubicon takeoffs, $50.00 for the Daystar 3/4 lift kit, $70.00 for the lower control arms and $100 for the track bar mount for a total of $425.00 plus $85.00 for the alignment.

i had the rubi suspension on rubi 33s for about a year. looked and rode fantastic. i still have the rubi suspension but upgraded to 35s (had to add rubi fenders).

i noticed a drastic drop in mpg with the 35s. it sucks because most of the trails i do are like 100 miles away. before a full tank would last me all day, from house to trail back to the house. now, i have to refuel on the way back home. its not a DD but a weekend toy so not a big deal. if i were to end up having to commute with it, i would probably run 33s for the DD and 35s for trail days.

just my 2 cents from my experience for those contemplating these choices.

If you wheel it, does it rub? I need the lowest lift possible with the sport fenders (6’ 6” garage at work) to fit 35’s on my sport.

I have not gone off road yet. From talking to another guy who had the same set up, it might rub a little off road. I am planning fabtech fenders later, but im not in a hurry because I dont really ever off road... yet.

You should get the Rubicon fenders, they are like 5-600 on quadratec and that includes inner fenders too.
