Yes I did own a TJ with the painted bolts that would instantly chip off off as soon as you put a wrench to the. It's like they didn't want you taking the doors off on a TJ. The reason I ask is because sooner or later you are going to scratch your door(s) in the the process of loosening/tightening. Are there no issue with the door accidentally popping off if you leave the bolts out.If you think it's hard, you should have owned a JK or even a TJ.
JL'S are easy peasy.
How would the door "pop off"?Yes I did own a TJ with the painted bolts that would instantly chip off off as soon as you put a wrench to the. Do you drive around with the doors open? If the doors are closed there is no way for them to lift.I live in NY the roads here can be just as tough as any offroad treck. I kid you not.
The door check would have to shear off as well.Do you drive around with the doors open? If the doors are closed there is no way for them to lift.
I'd expect that to happen rather easily in an accident. The door check would have to shear off as well.
So now we are talking about scenarios where you’re in a bad enough accident for the latch on the door to fail, the Jeep being upside down, and the check shearing off? Got it.I'd expect that to happen rather easily in an accident.
