If people keep complaining that their steering stabilizers are installed incorrectly then the way it works in the new bizarro world. The dealer personnel blame you as being the problem and start removing the stickers from the stabilizers. Problem solved.

Is that with it upside down?
Yes after having it on a week and installed wrong. My steering was loose but I had 0 shimmy. After install every road imperfection made me flash back to my JKU before I fixed its steering shimmy’s;)

Just had mine replaced, upside down as well. How on earth can they put it on upside down with an arrow to show the proper orientation?

Thanks. I’m curious to know if the damper will work well when installed correctly or if it’s damaged and a brand new one is required. The dealer installed mine wrong and test drove it that way. I hope you get back to 0 shimmy soon.

I will gladly update when I get it back. The new wrong installed dampener showed no difference in driving until the 3rd day. The JLU shimmy was not bad enough to slow down like the JKU when the shimmy happened.:like:

Took my JL in today for the V-41 recall, had a 9:00 am appointment (I was early), 1.5 hours later it was done. Drove home to see this.

I initially asked them if they could give me the part and using my tools to let me put it on in the parking lot to save me time, they thought I was kidding, I was serious. I would have singed off on the paperwork just like like they would have preformed the warranty work. I Could have been in and out in 15 minutes.

Can anybody guess guess what I getting ready to do at home and torque to 59 lb-ft .:angry:

EDIT: Appears if I need anymore service work done on my JL it is going to be at least a 1 hour drive, sure would have been nice to to keep it local. The front of my Jeep is the bottom of the photo.

I tried to put in a reimbursement for the heck of it on my RC stabilizer and it won't submit when I hit the submit button. LoL
It's clunky... it works using IE and Firefox.

If you're using Safari, you have to disable JavaScript from the settings.

Perhaps the techs need to learn to take the labels off, the intake bulge is not noticeable if upside down unless you know what to look for.

Someone said some of the stickers were wrong. I couldn't tell from your picture. Check for the bulge on the wheel side. There's a bulge on the collar on that end - it should be on the bottom. If it's on the top, that is incorrect. There are pictures somewhere showing what I'm talking about.

My bulge was on top and the labels were correct, I changed it so the bulge and labels were on the bottom, and the arrow on the label pointed to the front of the jeep.

Damper installed correctly drives like it did at mile 5. Tech also claimed found other loose items. Drove pretty good on the way home except for over inflated tires @45psi.....Steering is slightly less sloppy but with the tires over 10psi high the wandering and bouncy ride came back...made me have day 1 driving it home deja vu lol...

So the Jeep tech increased the PSI higher than the recommended PSI that is written on the door jam?

Same one that was installed incorrectly, not a new one, right?

Great is that’s true. It probably doesn’t move the fluid well if it’s upside down but didn’t get damaged.
