Anyone with the 67 mount had a problem with the ball on the base coming loose? It's already adhered and screwed down on place, but the ball itself is loose and moves around. Is there a bolt to tighten it underneath?

Did you take the Allen wrench and tighten the top of the ball?

on the Driver side pack there is no bolt on top of the ball as there is with the rail system. I had to pull up the base and tighten 3 small screws on the bottom. 67 is sending me more 3M VHB for the base.

I bought a two pack of these maxboost mounts from Amazon. I unscrewed the rubber prongs on the back and then dremmeled off a little lip on the back. I then stuck it to my jeep's ac vent with the supplied 3m tape. It's worked like a charm in my Cherokee and JL. I'm shocked at how good the 3m tape works....usually in heat, forget it. But mine hasn't failed in 4 years. It's not the perfect solution for all people because you have to give up one of your vents. For me....I always have the vents closed anyway, so it's no big deal. The ac vent can still spin open. I got the idea after seeing ppl gluing tiny mirrors to the left/right ac vents so they can still have mirrors while being doorless.

I used the 67 Design Rail System for the Phone and iPad. Works out great.
Dude! Who have you been fighting? LOL, your knuckles look like you were in the movie "Fight Club!" ;)

Hello,

Here’s what I did to mount my phone. I spent about 70 dollars total. I think I have a solution that is comparable to the rail options on the market for half the price. It seems there are pros and cons to all the options but perhaps this is an alternative for you.

I can add more mounts, move things around, etc. For example, I have a go pro mount that can easily be added.

My next step is to run a USB port to the top of the dash so I don’t have wires hanging.

Thank you
Rick.

What brand or parts did you grab?

Thank you for your interest. Here’s what I bought:

Phone Mount from Tackform - $30
https://www.tackform.com/collection...-cradle-holder-for-1-inch-ball-ram-compatible

YackAttack 9” Track - $13
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078PRJR45?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Ram Mounts Double Long Arm - $19
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CU9BTKY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

1” ball - I used YackAttack but you can also use Ram - $7
http://store.eddyline.com/YakAttack-Screwball-1-w-12-Mighty-Bolt-Closeout_p_115.html

That’s it. $70.

You can obviously buy additional ball mounts to add more phones and accessories. I bought the go pro mount but just haven’t installed it yet.

I hope this helps. If you have questions let me know.

I use the magnetic holder, which also works with wireless charging at home and work. Yes, the metal on the phone does it warm to touch but thats ok from all the reading ive done.

My hero! All I needed was a rail so this is perfect! And a hell of a lot cheaper!

I used a 3D printer to build a custom RAM style mount. I took the left bolt out of the passenger grab handle, built a ball with a stem that fits snug in the hole, got a 2 inch stainless allen head bolt and ground it down so I could run 1/4 20 NC threads on it to fit in the factory hole. The cell holder I printed from a design online that I reworked to fit my phone and allow for access to the charge and audio out ports.

I used to use a windshield mount which worked pretty well but in extreme heat in say a parking lot it would fall off. I also just wanted to get stuff off the windshield. I just put it the 67 design rail system for my phone and Garmin Overlander, love it so far, I have also decided to add an extra ball to the middle of the rail to share between the radar detector and my go pro
