My dealer was quick to schedule me and had no issue getting the part. It appears they did have issues with reading directions. My intake bulge is on the top & sticker arrow faces the rear of the vehicle.

Exact same thing happened to mine, I can't understand why many mechanics can't get this simple thing right.

I went back to the dealership today to have the damper installed correctly. (It was installed upside down). The technician unbolted the left side and twisted the left side of the shock 180 degrees. Is that ok?

I expected him to unbolt both nuts and rotate the whole thing 180 degrees. Does twisting half of it hurt anything? Iā€™m clueless to the internals of a shock.

Yes, that's 100% correct now. Did they apologize for installing it wrong the first time?

Yeah. The service writer called in a tech. The more senior tech came over to see what I was talking about and instantly knew that it was upside down. He drove it in and fixed it right away. The dealership was nice. I wish mistakes didnā€™t happen, but all is well.

Just got back from dealer, they were super quick to rectify it. I joked w/ the guy, ā€œYou guys put that on upside down so Iā€™d have to come back in here and drool over that white Gladiator.ā€

Called my dealer since it shows up for mine. I got the run around, was told they could not do it on a Sat because they only have techs in for oil changes and such. she said it could take 3hrs to 3 days and asked if I wanted to talk to a service adviser, which of course I say yes, was put on hold and no one ever picked up so of course I was disconnected and had to call back then I got a VM which I left a message 3hrs before they closed and still have not got a call back. (Not liking this dealers service already). Dealer BTW is Tuttle Click Jeep Irvine. I am going to wait to see how long it takes them to call me back as a test.
When I finally can GET an appointment (Friday my dealer couldn't access the warranty/recall database) and today they put me on hold so long I got disconnected.. three times)... I think I will remind them to read the label and put it on correctly. And I won't drive off until I visually confirm it, or they can do it again.
Hi Tech-Dude & ASMSAS,

Were you able to get in touch with your dealer to get an appointment scheduled for this recall? Our team would like to connect you with Case Specialists who will oversee this process and ensure that your concerns are addressed. In order to do so, please send us a private message at your earliest convenience.

Does this recall only replaces the steering damper? I got this replaced earlier in the year before it was an official recall. It didn't really fix anything. When going as high speeds, I still experience "death wobble" when going over uneven surfaces or bumps. There's also quite a lot of wandering. I logged into mopar and have this recall for my VIN, but it doesn't open up the description.
Hi jroman,

Sorry to hear that your concerns are still present after your previous repair. Per the recall notice, the front suspension steering damper on your vehicle may not effectively damp oscillation of the steering system, resulting in a sustained shake or shimmy in the steering wheel. This can be more noticeable when driving at speeds exceeding 55mph after contacting a bumpy road surface and in temperatures below 40Ā°Fahrenheit (5Ā° Celsius).

With this in mind, I do recommend following up with your dealer for additional information regarding your situation as they are in the best position to assist. Our team is just a private message away if you are in need of any assistance with that process.

Dealership just told me it would be a 10 week wait to get the recall fixed. Glad its just the steering and not something important.
Hi JDoty47,

I sincerely regret to hear of this delay. Given your situation, I would be happy to escalate a case on your behalf so we can connect you with a Case Specialist who will be able to work alongside your dealer to try and get the necessary part in sooner. Please follow up with us via PM if this would be of interest.

I just got mine on the app today, now to make the appointment and wait.
What dealer out of curiosity? I'm getting ready to schedule my V41 now.
Just got my recall notification in the mail today from FCA for my 2018 MOAB. Called my dealer and they scheduled me for next week without any issues.
Hi all,

Glad to hear you are getting this recall scheduled as soon as possible! Please know that we would be happy to connect you with Case Specialists who will oversee this process and ensure that your concerns are addressed. In order to do so, please send us a private message at your earliest convenience.

How long was it on incorrectly?

According to FCA, incorrect install could damage the part.

Yeah, mine was done wrong too, but I saw it before I left the dealership, and had them flip it. So it had zero miles on it.

Of course FCA considers the fasteners as one time use only, but those never got replaced.

And torque to spec ???? Yeah right !!!

The whole procedure pays 18 minutes. After finding and lifting the vehicle, not much time left to read.

I received the recall notice but my vehicle has the 2 inch Mopar lift installed. Iā€™m unclear if I still need the recall done or does the lift kit rectify the problem ? I called 2 dealers and they told me the exact opposite thing. One said Iā€™m good to go the other said I need to get the work done. Iā€™m confused ...
Yes, you need it. Mopar lift does not replace the stabilizer.

I see many others are having the same issue where they can't point the arrow in the right direction.
Ugh!

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Got my recall slip today, mine steers perfectly w/ no steering play, rattles etc. Do you think I should still get this done??
