I think my vent cover is in its final form. We had some freezing rain recently and with one notch in the middle there were two spots of ice at about 10:30 and 1:30 near the top of the windshield, each about 6 inches in diameter. I cut two more notches near the ends of the cover and I'm getting good airflow at 10:30 and 1:30. I'm calling it good.

Hi steffen707,
Congrats on your new Gladiator! Sorry to hear this. Have you notified your dealer about this yet? We'd like to take some time to have this documented and looked into further. Please send us a private message at your earliest convenience.

I'm getting so sick of this Jeep. Never have I purchased such a POS new vehicle. Went to the dealer to schedule an appt for suspension issues. They said they would call me in a few days when they had a loaner. And never did. So I'm just learning to live with the problems this thing has. It's sad, but it's kind of what happens, human nature. I don't have the mental energy to chase people around asking for help.

With the "cute" little Jeep wheels that show up on the windshield when it gets foggy not only do I have to look through fog, I have actual factory designed obstructions. I'll happily jump on a class action lawsuit.

And Jeepcares posting here and acting like people are having random, rare issues is disgusting. And the usual suggested solution? Contact your dealer. Yeah, I'd be better off trying to get this thing fixed with the neighbor's dog.

Dude, calm down. Clean your window. Use a good window cleaner, rub hard. That is not a design or easter egg, that is just marks left over from the assembly process and the automated window robot. Wash it away.

I can't speak to your other issues, but remember Dealers != Jeep.

You sure about that? Not saying that you're wrong, it's just bizarre if it's the first vehicle I've ever encountered with this. And if it's a matter of cleaning then holy high hell - well it sure would make sense that the first time ever is with a Jeep that I waited two hours at the dealer to pick up and had stains on the seats, covered in dog hair, pollen everywhere.... and some weird shit on the windshield that potentially blocks vision. These things are truly the lowest quality new vehicle I have personally ever purchased.

Maybe I've been spoiled by having most of my new cars built and designed in Germany. But I also got a 30K Kia for my wife that is shockingly good. And as much as i dont want to admit that Kia/Hyundai is a good car, I dont want to admit even more that my 40K american built vehicle is a low quality POS. I thought we as a country left that stigma in the dust - FINALLY - about a decade ago. Havent had/heard a personal or family/friend complaint about Cadillacs or Chevrolets which is what my family has typically always driven. Though my good friend got a new RAM last year and was very happy. For a couple of months. This is a guy who doesnt care about details and doesnt complain. He says he shocked at how big a piece crap it is especially regarding the interior. At least RAM practically paid him to take the thing off the lot, that sure wasnt the case with my Jeep.

So calm down you say? I'd love to. I'd also love my windshield defroster to work. You know what other vehicle has similar defroster performance? My 1968 Suburban. But after 51 years it still technically works so it's got that going for it. I've daily driven that thing for extensive periods of time. I may end up doing so again while my Jeep depreciates in my driveway. It also has less rust on the chassis than my Jeep at this point. An alarming thing I've begun noticing. I'm sure my good-as-nonexistant dealer will address that as well.

I agree with a lot of your rants here.. I live in the motor city and think Ford and GM have shaken the past and deliver high quality. FCA is still not quite there, their designs are good, their delivered quality is a bit off. But no one else is producing a vehicle like the Jeep, yet.

Sorry, computer guy here.. Dealer "does not equal" Jeep. Problems with the Dealer, only partially reflect on Jeep. Jeep could push better standards I suppose. Delivery appearance is all on the Dealer though, not Jeep. My Jeep was pristine. The shapes on the windows I never have seen before on any other care either, but they do go away with cleaning.

OK. I get that the car company and dealer are two different entities. The problem is that car quality is subpar AND so is the dealer. So who I am supposed to tell on? Both sides suck. If I were some random case that ended up with a problem vehicle the dealer would likely do whatever it could to 1 - fix it - and 2 - keep me quiet so I dont spook others. Or likely face repercussions from the manufacturer. But FCA is playing dumb.... "Oh....I dont know...that's weird....." and my dealer is playing even dumber except they actually ARE dumb. "What's that? Ooooh, we've neeeveeer heard anyone say that before. Why don't we not call you in a few days to not fix your problem and pretend it doesnt exist? Maybe you dont exist either."

Factory suction cup marks on my windshield instead of the intentional 387 asinine "easter eggs" located all over? Maybe. (F grill shaped easter eggs. Build a decent fng car before you worry about that. Can you see where the mind power was being focused?) Who should I be disappointed with? Because I've commented on windshield shapes on the easter egg thread and other members LOOOOOVE the little wheels that show up on the windshield when it gets cold. So this place doesnt help either. I'm just bashing my head against a wall every where I turn. Maybe I should just start walking around a city complaining until a stranger offers to help my shitty new car woes. All of the interested parties have chosen not to.

and its possible that until Jeep has some real competition, they can just continue to do "just enough" to keep people buying. Oligopolies increase quality/innovation.

When the new Bronco comes out, Jeep is gonna have some serious competition. They better get their act together or they're gonna lose a bunch of customers to Ford.
