It’s a manual with 6 gears. So long I’m not on a big grade 6th gear works well. 5 is really the highway gear with any wind or grade. I’m just below 3000 at 70 in 6th, or is it 5th? Don’t recall

I was told by my dealer I could not put any tire bigger than a 35 on my stock Rubicon wheels..
@grumgirl Ko2 are labeled as 37 but closer to 36" I have 30,000 plus miles miles that would differ with the dealer. I am running low pressure around 28 psi that will hurt the mpg a bit but better were pattern. It is not the height of the tires that is a problem its the width with stock you have to worry about. Offroad on rough trails I air down to 12psi and still no problem

Tires, gears, fish tanks, boobs....... Always go one size bigger than the size you think will be OK, cuz you WILL wish you had gone bigger very quickly. Especially when you spend all of that money up front - the difference between one size and the next size up in negligible. I have 35's and 4.88s on my pickup, a 90 gallon saltwater tank and B cups on the wife (natural). Not a day goes by that I dont wish every one of them were bigger. (I'm not an implant guy, but still wish there was a little more meat on those puppies. I dont tell her that though ;)

This is the best lift, tire, and life advice I have ever read on this forum. :like::like::clap::clap:

I was on the fence with my JLUR being my DD (50 miles every day). I went with 35" stt Pros. The noise is noticeable but not overbearing. The extra inch im saving with the garage door will make a difference with the lift when that day comes. Plus the mpg hit... I have no regrets sticking with 35s.

PS. 120 gal mixed reef with B cups as well.

Just went to a Jeep Jam event and saw the differences up close on the 35s vs 37 and even saw a 38” which are huge ...35s don’t look bad at all esp with a 2.5” lift ... I think there is a bigger difference look wise from 33” to 35” but 35 to 37 not so much

Well thank you sir.

And yes, I am aware that size regret can go both ways in a relationship. At least we both have enough to give the other a decent handful.

I agree. Tires start to look big at 35. 33's are a waste IMHO. Hell, I believe the tires on my stock sport are 32's and not a day goes by that I dont want to tear those little fellas off of there and replace em with a real tire. I do also understand that bigger than 35's is where you may start running into more potential problems. BUT..... having now spent a few thousand dollars on a couple of sets of 35's/wheels there is no way in hell I'm spending my hard earned money on anything less than 37's in the future. I'll figure out whatever it is I need to figure out with the next set, I dont wanna keep looking at my vehicles with regret.

Live and learn.

I ended up going with Black Rhino Armory Wheels with 17x9.5 4.5 backspacing, -18 offest, Mopar Lift and Milestar Patagonia's 35 inch tires. Came out really nice and drives better than stock!

  • B to D, best $6,000 i ever spent! They're my happy pillows. :)
  • I still have 35's but going to 37's next re-shoe. That should cost significantly less.
  • 22' boat, need a 27' boat. That will cost significantly more. :crying:

Great thread that I'm still going through page-by-page. A request to posters - please note the lift you're running when talking about the tire size you're running.

That's super-helpful for all of us who are looking at tire sizes and lift options. Thanks in advance!

We have the budget lift with 37x13.50R17 Maxxis Razr Tires. I usually cruise the jeep around at 67 mph. The wife on the other hand drives between 70-80. She says it drives just like it did with the stock 33's. If it didn't she would tell me right away. These Maxxis Razr tires are amazing. they are quiet, handle really nice on the road, and are only "D" rated. I liked the fact that these are D Rated instead of the E rated that most of the larger tires are. These ride extremely smooth on the road. They even seem quieter than the Toyo MT's I had on my JKUR. We don't hear the tires at all on the highway.

You can see it clears the fenders but touches the front bumper outers. We removed these after testing. Now there are no issues.
