Dammit that looks good. I told them to put white letters out and they forgot and I gave in because of time. After this pic I wish I wouldn’t have.

Thanks AmeriCon- love the name

I primed and painted them instead of powder coating after reading through their material and therefore finding a few horror stories. Wasn't sure how it would hold up due to the extreme movement of these springs, but so far, so good!

Hey. Great looking Jeep. I was wondering if you could tell me more about the materials you used to paint the components from MC? I love the red. How’s it holding up by the way?

Thank you!

I used Rustoleum's Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Satin Spray Paint

https://www.rustoleum.com/search-results/?searchStr=Apple red

in either Poppy Red or Apple over Rustoleum's rust inhibitor primer, which I used because I dragged some rough sandpaper over Metalcloak's finish for adherence a couple times [I forget, I'm sorry and I'm in the road- if I had to place $ I'd say Apple]. Go to Walmart to see which one matches the red factory or MC Rocksport shocks and/or the factory front tow hooks the best- they carry both colors. I then taped off the Duroflex bushings in a circle on either end and put on two coats of primer and allowed that to dry for 24 hours before putting on two thick coats of color. I went through 3 cans of primer and 5 cans of red, the springs eating up a bunch of paint as you're mostly hitting empty space, trying to get the coverage but not drip.

It's holding up great so far, after numerous wheeling trips and a couple serious trips over the rocks. I was most concerned about the springs however; on full droop I was worried the paint might crack from the expansion, contraction and torque, but I've looked and there is nothing yet [early May till now].

Let me know if you need anything and thanks for the comments!

Some 3 weeks ago, after 7 months and nearly 14K miles driven on the OEM set-up, I decided I wanted to eliminate some of the belly and cross member scraping encountered on some of the trails.

For my needs, I decided on the AEV 2.5” lift combined with the AEV Borah wheels and 35” Copper STT tires.

This thread is the devil, lol looking at 35s and now 37s all over the thread making the 35s look small, ...However I have a question for those on the board, I have a leased Sahara and love the look of 37s however I don't intend on changing out axels etc, or even rear tire holder (if I can get away with it) but I do want bigger wheels and tires, 35s are borderline I know this, but anyone able to do stock with 37s and be fine, driveability and all ...not a true off roader (just yet)
