Forgot to include the side steps in negotiations. What side steps would you recommend? I have a JLU Sport. My first Jeep and the more I drive it, the more I want to drive it.

Thanks,
Stacey
I've had N-FAB steps on my JLU Sport S for a while now, and loved them. Until I joined a club and started serious wheeling. Steps hang on every huge boulder or log. I just the other day installed my new RedRock 4x4 Sliders. They're great and still can function as a step, easily. Check out both in this photo, decide which meets your needs better. Lots of serious wheeling get sliders, not planning to wheel much serious terrain get the steps. Both from extremeterrain.com

Installed the Rock Hard 4x4 rocker guard - angled down. Very solid and the angled down works as a great step. They do require the removal of the body bolts. I had my local dealer remove the 2 front bolts and replace them with the Rock Hard supplied bolts. Dealer did the work for $30.

I ordered them both separately from Quadratec.com.

Hi all, I am interested in rock rails that angle up, likely 45 degrees. Although I am 71 I want the rocker protection and don’t want a step/slider. I want something simple. I have an interest in the Rusty’s Off-road rock sliders and the Fishbone offering. I am looking for any other suggestions. Thanks in advance, Mugs

Ours install very simply and mount in more locations than any other bolt-on slider.

Hello Jason, Thank you for your response. I have previously looked at your rock slider. Your product looks to be well made and a reasonable price and just about what I am hoping to find. Unfortunately I am looking for rock sliders that have more of an angle upwards and perhaps closer to the body. Otherwise yours would be perfect. Cheers, Mugs

Anyone here mount their rails raw/unpainted?
Do you treat it with anything beforehand to prevent rust?

Thinking about going this route.

Installed LOD Destroyer sliders on the JLUR this morning. Installed solo, and it wasn't that bad. Did not have to mess with any of the body bolts in order to get proper fitment. These things are heavy and very well built. They stick out just enough that any idiot looking to ding my Jeep is going to pull back a dented door. Plan on going with LOD when it comes time to do front and rear bumpers as well.

Where did you purchase them? I have not been able to find a vendor that has them in stock and when I called LOD directly they said they were out several weeks. I really like the way they fit.

I'm looking for real pictures of JLs with the Rough Country DS2 side steps. There are brochure style photos on the reseller's websites, but I'm looking for normal every day pictures. I'm trying to decide between the original RC DS side steps versus the newer DS2 side steps. Please post your pictures of your DS2s if you have them. I tried Google Images, but only brochure photos there too. Thanks.

Installed the ROAM frame-mounted just over a week ago and couldn’t be happier with the purchase. Did quite a bit of research and these were the ones I kept coming back to over and over again. Also awesome group of guys over there so was an easy decision.

I'm interested in the ROAM rock rails as well but am confused by the two versions available, one frame-mounted and one OE Location Body Mounted. What is the difference? It seems like "frame mounted" would be the much more stable way to go, but what would be the advantage of the "OE Location Body Mounted" version? I am mostly interested in having the rock rails to protect the sides of my 2-Door JL from road salt, rocks and debris kicking up from the 245/75R17 All-Terrain Tires that are on my Jeep.

Best,
-Tim
