I originally bought the rear fender and hinge protection 3M tape kit from R3 but when si got my rubicon I noticed the rear fenders already have some kinda film on them...has anyone installed the 3M over it, take it off or just leave it alone and save the 3M to replace later?

Thinking I shouldn’t have bought but never saw anyone say Rubicoms came with it

My jlur has the non painted fenders and I can tell you, expect damage to the fenders and back door hinges if you take it out in the trail. Rocks go flying and there's no step to stop them.

Thats why I'm looking at the lod destroyer rock sliders, they protrude a bit more which I'm hoping will deflect rocks coming from the front tires.

My Rubicon had the film on the rear fenders from the factory. I wouldn't put the 3M film over it as that would be a waste really.

Appreciate the tips, guess I wish I didn’t buy them but I’ll just save them for down the line

I installed weather tech mud flaps to keep rocks off door hinges and hopefully rear fender.

Hi all, hoping to revive this discussion. I have a 2019 with the black plastic fenders. I've already picked up quite a few dimples on the rear fenders. Too late to protect? Does anyone know how they would look with the 3m film put on them?

Also, any advice on door hinge protection? I don't have any chips (yet) and want to keep it that way. I've seen both the 3m tape for the hinges and the plastic door guards (off Amazon). Any experience with either or advice?

Mudflaps man, way better than putting cheap ugly bezels on your Jeep.
