Jeep Event on the USS Hornet

Jeep is holding "The Splashdown 50 Celebration and Jeep Heroes Drive" aboard the USS Hornet in Alameda on July 26-28. The Hornet was the recovery ship for Apollo 11.

I got an invitation from Jeep Wave for this. Is anyone else planning to go?

They will have concept vehicles, historical Jeeps, and some kind of an obstacle course on the flight deck. Plus there is access to the USS Hornet Museum, which is very cool on its own.

Should be fun.

I may be there on Saturday. I live in Alameda but I have the first half of the SF Marathon on Sunday (bus leaving at 4:05am...) and need to pick up my bib at the expo in SF on Saturday. It's going to be a rough weekend.

I'll be there Saturday to check it out, short drive for me and quick camping that night in Boulder Creek. Curious to see what it is like.

Use to live in Harbor Bay and saw that you posted this. I really liked the USS Hornet Museum (they also put on a good 4th of July celebration). Wish I had my Jeep in Cali this weekend to do this event, seems fun!
