Has anyone tried out the Rugged Ridge X Clamps?

I'm looking to mount my homemade co2 tank, and was considering the Powertank bracket, but didn't want to drill a hole through my wheel well.

I was thinking instead to use two of these https://www.extremeterrain.com/rr-xclamp-sm-blk-1103101.html?utm_content=XT Lights - Light Mounts and Brackets|Rugged Ridge&T5_Var4=J103119-A&intl=0&utm_campaign=XTW+Wrangler+Parts+Medium&dialogtech=ppc&utm_source=google-pla&utm_medium=shopping&T5_Var2=shopping&T5_Var3=orange&gclid=CjwKCAiAqaTjBRAdEiwAOdx9xqWidbVGdnDNSLs5NaGU_wGAtlBT8ftSjqphCjOoAuw_tqBPA9LMtBoCEIYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

and just curious if anyone else has used these and if they are strong enough.

I was just curious if you actually tried this since no one responded? I've got a Powertank coming in and I'm thinking about mounting options outside of their new JL bracket.

I didn't yet. I was waiting until summer to get my new mods installed and try this out.

I ordered the X Clamps, and they do not fit the JL (Unless I'm doing something wrong). They are too small.

I ended up mounting my powertank to the deck of the Diabolical Slipstream.

Powertank has a bracket that connects to the hardtop mounting holes ... it's not the roll bar, but a nice way to hold a tank still while driving around.

https://powertank.com/collections/brackets/products/bkt-2249

I'm hoping it will work on the 2 door without a rear seat. I have a 15lb tank that I use in my JK and I'd like to use it in the JL too.

Were you ever able to confirm this mount works in a 2 door?
Not yet. Good timing on the question though. I am ordering the bracket today.

Alright, it's been ordered. Probably going to take 7 days before I see it, I am on the east coast. Hopefully it works with little to no fudging. Those things aren't cheap.

And the answer is ... it's a little short. Now to figure out how to get it to work.

Dangit!

I'd think that a flat strap from Home Depot with holes would work, but then whatever bolt you use to secure the middle will rub against the top. What are your thoughts?

I'm almost to the point of getting the roll bar mount and just running the hard top. :(

Yes, thought about connecting some sort of flat strap to it, but then have to deal with bolt heads rubbing on the top.

I think I might go talk to a metal fab shop and see if they can weld a piece to it so I dont have to worry about a bolt head on the top. This is such a small project, will see if any shops will give me the time of day.

This is not the most cost effective mod ... lol. But now I mostly committed to getting it to work.

I managed to mount the air tank inside the jeep using Fishbone Offroad storage bins for the wheel well. Drilled some holes, fastened the Powertank bracket to the bin and its holding my air tank. Pictures are pretty bad, will try to get some with some sunlight.

I have a ride at Rausch Creek Offroad Park next weekend. Will see if the tank stays snug and the storage bin keeps its shape. Ha

There's a good idea. I'm also very interested in the Slipstream for 2 doors.

https://shop.diabolicalinc.com/collections/all/products/slipstream-jl-2-door

I will have to review to see what options for mounting I would have with that.
