You are going to some of the places that I am this year. We will be at Windrock for the three trail badges in two weeks. Then later in the begining of November we are headed to Las Vegas from Michigan via Colorado, Utah, Arizona and Nevada for a wheeling trip.

Needless to say, I am watching this thread as you go. When we go to Windrock, there will be a stock JLUR, a JLUR on 35s and then my JLUR on 37. We are also going to go run Nemo's tunnel while we are down there. There may be a fourth JLUR with us as the Jeeping thing has bit another one of my buds and he is shopping right now for a JLUR.

Great pics, and thanks for the write up.
If you happen to make it down here for the badge trail in Uwharrie National Forest, some of us here might be able to join you.

You're the second person in 2 days to mention the Nemo Tunnel. I didn't know this existed until @UNC Rubicon mentioned it in a text to me yesterday.

I may leave early today to make that part of my drive...

Then camp out there. I hear it's haunted all that fancy dead people lore. Sounds like a great time to sleep in Hammock. Haha. I love it!

I need to see how work goes this morning. Could be an interesting, unique stop.

Well, dammit man. PM me your number. You never know when and if we'll cross paths going cross country. It would be pretty cool to meet up somewhere.

Yesterday afternoon I started the drive to Missouri. After @UNC Rubicon mentioned to me the NEMO Tunnel, I googled it. I thought this looked really cool, especially the haunted and crazy history aspect. It wasn’t too far out of the way, so I added it to the things to see.

The Tunnel is located near Wartburg, TN. There are signs to the campground and signs that mention NEMO access. Plan to have no cell service, which means no help. I drove through the tunnel at about 830-845PM. It’s a little creepy, but the adrenaline from running this the first time felt pretty good.

Here’s a couple pics and videos. ( A couple f**k’s were said)

I did think about that ... only on my way back through the tunnel to get back to the main road. I think if you ride the wall where your tires are touching it, you can fit two Jeeps. It’d be super close.

Personally, I wanna see you back the trailer all the way out.

I was half expecting some horror movie monster or Bigfoot to meet you on the other side of the tunnel, lol.

I have finished the second portion of my trip already. Time sure does seem to fly by in a hurry.

This past weekend, I spent my time out with the Jeep Jamboree at the Southern Missouri Off-Road Ranch.

If you've never been, this place was beyond awesome. The trails were so much fun, especially after and during the incredible amounts of rain that hit the area.

I showed up and parked the Jeep and started my first Jamboree off with the smell of burning gear oil. I took a look under the Jeep and the rear pinion seal was leaking really bad. A little more investigating and found the breather valve for the rear diff was stuck closed due to some mud. I cleaned it, drained and re-filled the diff and went on wheelin'. A leaking diff isn't really a problem until you need to drive for really long distances. I'll get the seal changed out completely before heading to Colorado next month.

The first day was nothing but rain and creek crossings. It was so much fun to wheel in all that water.

I met some of the coolest people and had such a great time. The Jamboree itself was very organized, but the wheeling was slow. That was to be expected with the amount of Jeepers at the event. It's really like any large organized event that involves Jeeps and their drivers. I didn't mind it though. The social atmosphere was really awesome.

The Jeep is in storage now for about a month. This will give me some time to organize myself and get parts drop shipped to the storage facility for when I get back there to fix it.

Here are some pics from the weekend: (There's a bunch)

Haha. I thought the same thing. I was trying a lot of things I shouldn't have been trying. Don't become a better wheeler without testing yourself a bit.

Looks like a great time Shawn! Definitely more challenging trails than what we have been doing.

The trails out at SMORR defintely range from easy to insane. We did the Jamboree level 10 trails, which ended up being difficult, but passable by most. It really tested the confidence of the driver. The Jeep is rarely the inhibiting factor. I felt tested on some of these trails and chose the harder lines at every turn we took. Sometimes, I got other behind me in trouble because they followed me, but even though they felt uncomfortable, their jeep surprised them and made it through. It was a good test.

Oh... a CB is required for the Jamboree, which was super nice to use, finally. Lol.

Dang that place looks cool! It's nice to see a place that you can still wheel at even when it is soaked, i.e. not like Uwharie :)

Very nice. There was a few spots that you would not want to drop a tire into the grove.
