I will be pulling a 2400 lb travel trailer with my JLU this summer. Is it best to stay in 2WD or use 4H Auto?

I don't think it would make much of a difference, but if you know you won't need the extra traction then I'd say go 2H. I pretty much only use 4H auto if there's a chance of conditions needing it, of course that's just me.

Does 4H Auto disengage the Front Axle Disconnect?

Selec-Trac II uses a console mounted switch to control the MP3022 transfer case. The switch controls the 4WD mode with options of 2WD - 4WD Auto - N - 4WD Low. The MP3022 transfer case uses an electronically controlled clutch pack to bias torque from 100% rear to 50/50% front/rear. The transfer case has no center differential, so power can only be supplied to the front axle when the rear wheels begin to slip. In this way, the transfer case works almost identically to the NV247 transfer case used in the Quadra-Trac II system in 1999 to 2004 WJ Jeep Grand Cherokees. In 4WD Low mode, the clutch pack is locked and power flows through a 2.72:1 planetary gear set for higher torque at lower speeds. Thus since it is electrically controlled I think you are ok either way.

Not pertinent to your exact situation but be careful towing in 4A in slick conditions like snow. It'll engage that front at the worst time and if you were understeering you're now over-correcting, and it all happens fast.

I hated the NP246 in our '05 Yukon, auto was sketchy. I want the predictability of RWD (and if I drift, I, the motor vehicle operator , correct) or full-time 4WD

I can work with one or the other, but Auto just adds another variable I can't necessarily predict or compensate for.
