Incidentally, an OMT (oscillating multi tool) is the bomb diggity for cutting plastic. You can plunge cut, too, and control is great, it won't pull away from you.

HF sells a super inexpensive version, or Fein is at the other FAR END of the spectrum. I prefer my Milwaukee M12 simply because of the lack of a cord.

I put the power tools away after I realized my knife would cut it faster and with a much nicer edge

Just a different perspective...being a wanna be aero engineer, and having worked in aviation all my life, those things look functional to me. They're trying to keep the airflow directed around the front and not through the well. Does it work to reduce drag? I dunno. But they wouldn't make them with it if it didn't do anything. Maybe measured in tenths of a mpg at 100 mph. LOL.

Hello everyone,

Just picked up Wrangler #6! I'd like to remove the plastic cover between the flare and the front bumper, but doing so seems to leave the back of the fog lights unprotected. Besides changing the entire bumper, any suggestions? It seems only the Sport model has these ugly plastic things!!!
Thanks in advance!

I'll be honest with you, if you build your jeep right(i.e. bigger tires, nice rims, etc) I actually think those plastic pieces look really good.

Seen a lifted sport with big tires/nice rims that had those plastic end caps and it looked really really good!

Gives the sport a very unique look in contrast to the Sahara and Rubicon.

...my 3 cents

I used a razor blade around the bumper on mine. Cut very easy and left the back piece intact to cover fog lights

Frankly, my Rubicon looks like the bumper is a disconnected afterthought. Those gap fillers tie the bumper to the rest of the Jeep.

This was a very quick and easy mod today, which in my opinion really improves the front end.

My Sahara didn't have them when I bought it.

I was dead set on removing them back in December when I got my Jeep, but my husband said I should wait and not be hasty. Well, they have actually grown on me and now I'm glad I didn't trash them. Yes guys, my husband WAS RIGHT:like:

They are one of the only things we can say that are available stock on the Sport / Sport S that aren't available on the other trims (at least in the US). :)

Personally, I like them now, and I'll take the very slight increase in mpg that may result from them.

If anyone has removed these and doesn't want them, I'll pay postage to get them.
