Where I live it rains like hell a big portion of the fall and spring. I wonder how noisy the soft top portion will be compared to the freedom top. Is it one layer or is it isnsulated?
It feels/sounds like you're under a giant umbrella, but muffled a bit since the material is thicker than an umbrella.
It's actually a pretty pleasant feeling

Would it be a problem to drive with the rear glass open? How solid is it?

I wonder how the top will stand up at high speeds when open?

I’m still confused as to how many power top we have for JLU?
Here's the Granite 2018 Jeep Wrangler JLU Sahara with Power Sliding Soft Top revealed at the LA Auto Show.

For those who’d rather not fuss with manually removing freedom top panels and hard tops (and store them) but want to experience open-air driving at the touch of a button, the Power Top is your solution. As our videos below show, with the touch of a button in the overhead console, the soft roof top slides back to expose the entire top of the passenger cabin (front and rear). The sliding top can be stopped in any position along the way.

For an even more open-air experience, the side window panels also remove easily by simply operating four handles (two for each panel). Unfortunately the rear window is not designed to be removed. But, the doors certainly are, so with the PowerTop you can still have a nearly completely open experience (except the rear window).

And if having the PowerTop frame structure and rear window in place is still too not open enough for you, we’ve learned from Jeep that the entire top is fully removable, although Jeep recommends that it stay in place.

Anyways, enough words, check out the PowerTop in action below!

Jay,

Do you foresee an aftermarket company selling a rear glass for the power top that can be removed?

We heard back from Jeep about why they recommend that the power sliding top remain installed and it's because upon reinstallation the slide rails may be difficult to line up properly.

Hopefully this is helpful information for those considering the power top.

WHEN IS THE POWER TOP BEING RELEASED? PLEASE!!!!!!!
The posted Date is May 15.

I am wondering if anyone has seen an update to the Production Timeline. It is pretty old. Have they pushed back the date?

If production is May 15, does that likely mean we will be able to place the order in March or April?

My dealer told me last weekend that it won't be available until "fourth quarter," despite rumors that production would start in May. Not sure which to believe, as the dealer did not seem to have any information about the top other than what was seen during the "reveal event."

Can anyone post or direct me to pictures with the power top retracted and the doors and rear panels removed?
Here you go... Been driving around for three days and it is quite nice. Opened the rear. glass today, as I did pull a little pull and buffeting when it was down.
