I have a few questions on disconnecting the sway bars on my non-Rubicon.

My setup is stock, so I’m considering adding some quick disconnects. I’ve looked at the JKS setup, but I don’t like how it requires cutting off the bracket leaving all that force on just one tab instead of two. Are there any other options for quick disconnects that don’t limit the connection to one fairly small tab? I’m not totally affraid of cutting things, but I don’t want the result to be less structurally strong. On the other hand, I know lots of people run the JKS. Is my concern unwarranted?

If I don’t add quick disconnects, how hard is it to just disconnect the stock system? Do I strap or stow the sway bar connectors somewhere? What about the swaybar itself? Does that need to be secured somehow when it’s disconnected? When I reconnect is getting the correct torque critical, or is good and tight good enough?

I've been kicking around ideas on disconnects as well. I haven't been too keen on the cutting idea on the JKS setup.

As for disconnecting, I believe most disconnect from the bottom bolt, swivel up and secure with some reusable zip ties. As for the torque, I've never seen anyone after a trail run pull out their torque wrench when putting them back on :)

The cutting is minimal and fairly simple, but i understand why it is off-putting, being this new of a vehicle, and not returnable to stock condition without fabrication.

Thank being said, the JKS design works great because they do cut it, and the links are adjustable and greaseable so they grow with your Jeep and stay quiet.

I love the JKS quick disconnects on my Wife's JL. She watched me do it one time, and the next time we were on the trail she did it without my guidance while I was airing down her tires. I like how on the JL they incorporated a bracket to hang the links/swaybar on rather than just taking them off or using straps/tie wraps to hold them in place. The cutting is minimal and easy with the right tools

I believe those require a lift. Based on the length of the Rancho arms it looks to me like you’ve got a lift. My stock sway bar arms are much shorter than that.

I like how the Rancho system uses a relocation bracket rather than requiring cutting.

That is correct at least 2" lift required I installed the Rancho 3.5" lift it was a great combo.

I just ordered the Teraflex quick discos from Amazon. They get to my house on Thursday. I am going to install them myself without a lift. I am pretty sure this is possible. I will update with pics if I can get back to this thread.

UPDATE: I opted to sell the teraflex quick discos to my buddy and am now running with a totally disconnected sway bar link at all times. I am loving the body sway and it fells more like a jeep ride with all of the trappings of the good suspensions on the new JL's.

I'm going to try the Teraflex JL / JT Sway Bar Quick Disconnect Kit (SKU #1764000).

I like the fact that there is no cutting, everything disconnects and reconnects really easy on both sides and the sway bar is held well out of the way when disconnected. The specs say they'll fit on any JL lifted from 0 (zero) to 4 inches.

Purchased the kit based on concept since I couldn't find any reviews. Haven't installed it yet. Any one else have any opinions on this approach?

There is a treacle’s video on amazon and a couple other guys on YouTube that video the install. It seems pretty straightforward. You don’t even need a jack. My bolts were pretty snug and I couldn’t get a drill in there so I used a ratchet and rubber hammer

I have read many longtime Jeep owners on this site that say they have been running without them for years. Guess you just gotta get used to the feel.
