I have a few questions on disconnecting the sway bars on my non-Rubicon.
My setup is stock, so I’m considering adding some quick disconnects. I’ve looked at the JKS setup, but I don’t like how it requires cutting off the bracket leaving all that force on just one tab instead of two. Are there any other options for quick disconnects that don’t limit the connection to one fairly small tab? I’m not totally affraid of cutting things, but I don’t want the result to be less structurally strong. On the other hand, I know lots of people run the JKS. Is my concern unwarranted?
If I don’t add quick disconnects, how hard is it to just disconnect the stock system? Do I strap or stow the sway bar connectors somewhere? What about the swaybar itself? Does that need to be secured somehow when it’s disconnected? When I reconnect is getting the correct torque critical, or is good and tight good enough?
