After a long wait, my Punk'n JLUR arrived. This will be more of an overlanding build than a rock crawler, so the plan is to build for function and protection. My wife and 8yr old daughter love to explore, so we plan on a lot of trail time.

So far I only have the floor mats in and installed, and a VIAR 450p auto portable compressor with ARB deflator. Rhino recovery strap and d rings.

Parts already purchased to be installed:
Roam Frame mounted Rock Slider / Steps
Metalcloak Undercloak full underbelly skid plates
Metalcloak rear differential skid plate
Rancho front differential skid plate (will swap to Metalcloak once it is offered)
Rock Hard Lower Control Arm skids
Mopar JL grill / winch protector / bar.
Mopar grab handles for front and rear
Mopar door sill guards.

Parts I am planning to order:
6" or 7" Round LED lights for front bumper winch / grill guard.
Warn Zeon or Smittibilt X20 comp winch
Warn winch plate
Factor 55 link
35" tires (K02 or Ridge Grapplers)
Falcon 3.3 shocks
CB of some sort.
Falcon 2.2 or Fox ATS stabilizer. (Once there is a skid for it, or model that supports relocation)
Aftermarket front and rear bumpers. (Holding out for the Rugged Ridge SEMA front bumper)

Depending on how it does, maybe a small lift with Teraflex Alpine flex arms. (However, mine sits 100% level with no rake at all. With 2200 miles it has about 39 3/4 in to bottom of fenders as is. About 8 inches above tire to outside, and over 9 in inside.)

Here are a few pictures as is today before the mods come in. Still plenty capable, and we will use it to explore all over the 4-corners states and CA.

Spoke to local shop today where I ordered all my underside protections from and we are working out a lift package. Their suggestion was the Teraflex 2.5" lift springs (said they are same as Mopar 2" Springs" and I plan to use the Teraflex Alpine arms and Yeti track are and steering components. For shocks I am planning for the Teraflex 3.3, but now that the Fox Factory series 2.5" remote res. Shocks are out I may look into them as well. (King on list as well, but really like the Falcons). With the 35" tires I plan to run this will allow full travel, and meet my needs on everything from CO trails, Moab slickrock, and some higher speed desert running. (I used to race ATV's, so I really want to do some desert and dune running). What we plan to do is all over the board, so trying to make the build support all of that will be interesting.

Stay Tuned as my parts come in and it progresses.

Put my Grill / Winch guard on today. Still waiting on all of the other parts I ordered. Also looking at options for wheels and tires, trying to decide between Dirty Life 9303 and Quadratec 41 wth 315/70/17 Ridge Grappler Or K02s.

"Warn winch plate"

FYI, Possible interference with your bumper hoop, and the Warn winch plate. It sit higher than almost any other and can come in contact with the taller winches. It's hard to tell, but the back of my hoop is spaced slightly higher.

Dang, that is one I was looking at. Im surprised there is clearance issues with a warn winch and warn winch plate with the mopar winch guard lol. They worked with Jeep to make the mopar plate, so I assumed the warn one would work with no issues. I have not done any research due to that assumption. Guess I need to start looking into it

just install that winch plate as low as the bolts will allow. The interference is minimum.

Can't upload a pic for some reason.

Just mount the cradle as low as possible, and push the winch back toward the grill, as much as the mounting bolts will allow, and you should "just" clear.

Thanks for the advise. I may make a rubber gasket to go between the bar and bumper out of rubber rubber that could give 1/8 or so.

With advanced knowledge of how to push them for max clearance, I don't think you'll need to. Get those 4 large bolts started on the bumper then use a jack to push it upwards and tighten it. That should ensure that you are golden.

Wth all of the issue I have had with the JLUR, I guess, the Jeep named itself. My Daughter and wife kept telling me we needed a name. After all the issues, and trips to the svice department (now while on vacation) I think I have found its name.

Everyone meet HeiHei.

Heihei” (sometimes Hei Hei) in the Maori language means 'disturbance' or an 'interruption from the norm. This seems to fit on so many levels. We all Like Moana, so all find it a fitting name as so far this thing has really been a pain in the butt.

No, Mopar makes their own for the JL. Teraflex made an older JK lift for Mopar. Anyway, I've run a number of Jeeps and suspensions over the years and this Teraflex 2.5 ST setup with Falcons that I am running is the best hands down. You're gonna like your decisions! Jeep got that orange right! I totally would of done that and an Astros theme had I seen one before I ordered my red back in September last year.
