I sleep in the back of mine because where I go there isn't a hotel for hours. Pro-tip: build a platform with 2x4's on their edge and put plywood on the 2x4's to make a flat platform. Although the seats lay down flat-ish, it leaves a very uncomfortable hole at the split.
I built my custom platform out of aluminum. No unloading the Jeep to sleep inside tho!

The inside of a marriott looks better to us. To each their own but my days of camping are at a bare minimum and will only do with when we have too like the rubicon trail

I will tow my Jeep behind the Motorhome and make sure I make it back to the Motorhome for a comfortable nights sleep and a shower and a pot of coffee in the morning I’m done roughing it

Can’t get to the remote place but I can get from coast to coast at 75mph with the Jeep in tow That RV looks great for off road but not to good on the highway

My dog spends a lot of time in the back of the Jeep. I put a twin size 3” thick memory foam mattress topper back there for him and its a perfect fit. It worked well for a nap for me on a 16 hour drive.

Seen some threads about hammocks in Jeeps. Not quite sure how that would work

Still hard to beat just a plain ole cot and sleeping bag under the stars! While I agree hotels are great for road trips. Overland and back country overnight off road trips justjust o so much more for us.

Yeah. There's really no "right" way to do it. It depends on what you want out of your trip. For me, I have no plans. I start driving a trail and it might take a few hours or all day (depending on stops to see/explore stuff) My day ends when the sun starts to set, and wherever I'm at on the trail, that's where I stay the night.

That's just my style. Not right or wrong :)
