Following now for the 2.5. Will it be announced here or in a separate thread? Thank you.
What tire size do you plan with the 2.5?

35" as it is daily driver but love the 37" look. Just not there yet with the additional upgrades that should be done with 37". Still researching and reading reviews but most likely 35". What about you?

I’m kind of right there with you. 37s for me probably means regearing (maybe not essential, but I’m ocd) and more. I think 35s might be the sweet spot.

Thank you for the response. I should pick up my JLUR next week or so and I told the local shop I'm holding off with the lift they recommended for this one.

That's what we like to hear @kobejo34 Glad you didn't let them push another product on you, freedom to choose the best!

@Maximus-3
I’m picking my Jeep up this Saturday had thought I decided on a lift then saw this thread, read all the posts and watched all the videos. I know you had said no driveshaft replacement is necessary but is that really going too hold up with this steep of an angle on a 3.5-4.5” suspension lift? I know the control arms are flattened out which is a great idea Bc it makes it more like a long arm kit.

Using the factory control arms you won’t get as much misalignment as with let’s say Johnny joint control arms (aka less flex and articulation ). Have you tested your kit out with other control arms? It might be something I would consider if I buy your kit is to get a full set of aftermarket arms. If so, have you objectively measure a difference in flex or articulation with a CTI?

I’m just trying to get as informed as possible before investing $$$.

Very good ideas you all have going on though. Thank you in advance.

Hi @RenoMD, congrats on the new JL and thanks for the excellent questions.

When to replace the Driveshaft? Many of the competitors lift kits correct the caster angle by providing longer/adjustable lower control arms. This method does a good job correcting caster angle but does little to correct the pinion operating angle within the articulation cycle. Failure to optimize the pinion operating angle does two things: adds binding stresses & lessens the spline engagement on the driveshaft. Hence the need for a longer driveshaft rite away.

The Maximus-3 JL Geo-Lift kit corrects the caster and pinion angles via our control arm geo-drop brackets. Our approach results in optimal geometry, less binding stresses, and more spline engagement on the driveshaft.

Sooner or later, with enough off-road use in 4-wheel drive the CV joint will eventually fail on the front factory driveshaft, transfer case side. At that point you have two options: rebuild the CV joint or upgrade to an aftermarket driveshaft. We are not claiming that you will never need a new driveshaft, but the factory one will work for a while and eventually fail because of steep CV angle, not length. In other words, every lift-kit will need to address the front driveshaft at some point, either rite away or down the road.

Control Arms: you are welcome to upgrade to aftermarket control arms, provided they are the same length as the factory arms. Any change in length would throw-off the geometry of our kit.

We have not found a CTI ramp yet, but EJS is only a few weeks away! We will prove the JL Geo-Lift Kit's capabilities on the harsh trails of Moab, UT.

Cheers, Maximus-3

@Fire Burns, here are a few stance shots on level ground. Featuring our 3.5" geo-lift system with 37" tires. Still working on pricing. It will be competitive for this full solution.

What color are the scratch guards on those wheels? It doesn't look like one of your options, but it's cool looking and I might want to go for that same look. TIA

It's called "textured Smoke Bronze metallic powder" (or smoked bronze for short.) This powder was designed specifically for the 75th Anniversary Wrangler, and since we make accessories for that bumper we wanted the perfect match. We sourced the powder from the same company that manufactured it for OE. We can coat any of our Maximus-3 parts in this smoked bronze (couple week lead-time)

It's a really unique color, it changes in different lighting conditions.

I installed the Maximus-3 3.5" Geolift / high steer kit with the upgraded Falcon 3.3 adjustable shock option. I also installed their winch plate and finishing kit for the Warn Zeon S.

My observation upon unboxing was that this kit is of very high quality. The individual brackets are hefty and appeared to have been well designed and packaged. The finish is nice. Overall, the installation went great. The instructions are complete and pictures are easy to follow. The kit assembled and fit together nicely. The inner fenders required trimming, but Maximus-3 provided a template and it worked great.

The kit took 7.5 hours to install and another hour to install the winch, but the results are terrific. Follow the instructions! I skipped a key step installing the winch and I needed to call Joe at Maximus-3 to get some help. This team knows their stuff. Kudos for prompt support and calls back. I really can't say enough about how great Matt and Joe have been in support of this project and build.

I am running Hutchison Rockmonsters with 38" Patagonias. I didn't have to trim inner fenders or anything else. I haven't "bobbed" my front OE Steel Bumper yet, and there is no interference at all, even with the full steel front bumper.

I put 160 local and highway miles on my JLUR this weekend. The ride is confidence-inspiring. Steering is tight and well-sorted. No surprises - my '14 JKUR was a bear to steer. It didn't track well and actively reacted to moderate bumps and potholes by jumping around. I constantly fought with the steering wheel and would never think of steering with one hand (JKUR had 35" tires and a 2.5" lift). My new JLUR feels so solid. It has a great stance and really inspires confidence. I can feel the big potholes, but the steering line is unaffected by driving over moderate bumps or potholes. It is really a joy to drive on pavement. I would say the ride quality and steering is at least as good as stock, probably better. Admittedly, I didn't have the JL very long before installing the Geolift.

Why 3.5" and not 4.5"? I didn't want to use an aftermarket step and I have young kids. I also built this JL to tackle Moab, Rubicon and other challenging trails, and lower C.G. was part of the equation for me. Overall, I love the look and stance of 38" Patagonias under a 3.5" Geolift.

I included two images of the finished product and two of my Jeep on the lift with the project underway (one with the kit installed but stock wheel and tire). More to come... Sven

Looks great!

I’m anxious to hear how this lift does out on the trail, particularly Moab. I love the idea of the improved road manners with this lift given my Jeep is 95% daily driver and only 5% weekend warrior. But, I’m just curious if the off-road flexibility will be limited with the stock arms.

In just over three weeks Maximus-3 we will be proving the JL Geo Lift on the trails of Moab, UT. We are excited and beyond confident in the off-road capabilities of the JL Geo-Lift Kit.

Stay tuned because we will be sharing tons of great content from the 2019 Easter Jeep Safari.
