I've ridden on Duratracs for 2 winters now. I've driven through snow up to my rails with no problems. If you are looking for a tire for snow, go with the Duratracs.

Love my 35" Duratracs. They look more aggressive than the KO2s, are relatively quiet, and when I tested the braking and handling in ice and snow, they worked great!

Duratracs on V8 Ram SWB Reg Cab 4x4 had about 40% left at 40K. Duratrac's on next V8 Ram SWB Reg Cab 4x4 at 16K still looked almost new. Duratrac 315x70x17xD at 32lbs on JLUR, stock wheels no lift handle it all, are light weight & look great. The negatives for this old guy that spends more time at the mall than Rubicon are: extra .8" climb in height, fuel mileage and the reflash my V6 8spd wants on the hwy.

I have been running the Duratracs on my 1 ton dually trucks since 2008 every winter and i have not found a better winter snow tire, i have pushed snow with the front bumper on a 1 ton Dodge Dually 4X4, pulling a fully loaded 28ft enclosed snowmobile trailer between Ryan Park and Chains End parking lot, breaking trail to get to the Chains End parking lot, ( on hwy 130) on the west side of the Snowy Range Mountains in Wyoming. And i do admit to having a massive grin on my face and a prayer in my mind that i would make the parking lot, which i did, reasonably easy. That cemented in my opinion of the snow ability of the Duratrac tire, Since then i have gone thru 4 sets of 6 of these currently a set on my 1 ton dually now and when my JLUR gets in Punkin will have a set of 35's on her, no doubt..

I am currently running 315/70 D rated Duratracs on my JKU. They ride great and are the lightest 35 on the market. They are an absolute beast in the snow. Ride height at 30 PSI on the stock 17x7.5 wheels is 33.5" if you're wondering. If they made them in a 37, they'd be going on the new JL for sure.

KO2 from what I was told come in 6ply and 10ply sidewalls, more off road you do go with 10 KO2. I am currently going with 275/65/18 on my JLUS 10 ply KO2. Staying for now with no lift but with new 9" rims I can move up easily.

Had GY Duratrac on last truck.
Loved them till they cupped. Rotated every 4-6,000.
Have 35 x 12.5 KO2 on JLUR and love them!
Only 1,000 miles but have not looked back.

How do you like the Duratracs when offroading? I hear it has very weak sidewalls

I just got them right before winter. I haven't done any serious wheeling with them yet, unfortunately.

Nice looking Jeep! What lift do you have on there?

Do you have any more pics?

Mopar 2” lift.
First Jeep, won’t be my last!
I’m hooked!
Have had no issues with 2019 JLUR.
FYI- Not a fan of the weather warning popping up on my dash and needing to click the X when it’s 4+ hours away and not heading my way. Wish I lived in one of the 5 cities to program weather and traffic, but I don’t!!!
Mopar...if you read this, I sure hope you fix this much needed update- Thank you in advance!

No clean Jeep pics for a few months in MN.

This isn't how they build tires now according to a BFG rep with whom I spoke when I bought my 315's. They still mark them in those terms, but it has nothing to do with the actual number of plies, in many cases. Besides, if this were the way they do it, then 10 plies would weigh more than a pound or two more on the E rated KO2 vs the C rated in the 315 size. He said the C rated tire has the same sidewall resistance to punctures as the E rated tire.

Found 3 more pics for you.
1st pic- before Mopar lift on dealership lot.
2nd pic- stock tires with lift and 35” simply rolled in front of stock tire to compare size.
3rd pic- stock tires with Mopar lift.

Again, find the tire you like. No right or wrong answer as it’s individual preference.
I like the look of both. I have owned both tires in past. Both handle well on snow, ice, pavement, dirt. I do like how quiet the KO2’s ride on pavement. I like the standard size over metric because of my age .
If your still wavering after hours of research(more fun than buying if ya ask me) remember the stock Jeep comes with KO2’s. I can only assume that Mopar R&D has set up the Jeep and tested the Jeep too many miles to count on those tires.
Enjoy your research
