Hello all,

I have had my 19 Rubicon for about a month now and love everything about it. My only complaint is the poor stitching on the steering wheel itself. I have the leather packaged on it and noticed this out of place blue stitching near the arrows for the menu.

Does anyone else have this weird blue stitching sticking out as well?

@shicken562 I don't think that's blue stitching but rather the foam that must be inside the steering wheel cover. In the second pic though - that's some bad stitching and might warrant a replacement wheel is my guess.

Thank you so much on that, once I read your reply I checked all inside the inner steering wheel and indeed could make it the blue foam from inside, however it just sucks how they let something like that slip by on a $50k + vehicle. As far as trying to get it warrantied (if possible) who do you recommend I mention, or should I wait till its first service? Currently I'm around 2,000 miles on it or so.

May sound corny .... but, have you tried to gently, carefully push that little bit of blue foam material in, with say a plastic spudger...

Man, you know if he actually brings it in they will just snip that tail off and say it's fixed right. When sewing it happens all the time, it was just missed when making the wheel.

A spudger, is one of the most useful tools you can have in a repair kit. Whether a computer repair kit, automotive repair kit, tool boxes, first aid, etc.. I have spudger's in every kit I have..

I even used spudger's when I was on the job and sewing/suturing people up. Even used one once, to create an airway on a guy that tried to oft himself by hanging.. Anyway, a spudger is a great little tool. $4.00+-

I look at some of those things as, well humans. But then again, mine was only 30k.

I would definitely try to fix this myself. A black fine tip Sharpie may also help. The thing you have to ask yourself, before taking it in for service, is whether you would like to take care of it yourself or trust the service tech to do it for you knowing that the results may not be as good as you might do on your personal vehicle.
