Same here, didn't buy a Jeep for gas mileage. I will do 5.13 also.

Me either but Id prefer to keep the stock ratio to keep the engine in it's powerband. I haven't had a need to regear my JL. 37's don't seem to affect it's performance.

can you relay your rpm at 70 and 80? Thanks!

70 in 8th for me is about 1600 80 is about 18-1900 (breathe on the pedal and it downshifts) I'd like to be 22-24.

This debate circles around many forums. 5.13 or 4.88 with 37's. Weight of tire seems to be a big reason for the 5.13 or in the future increase to 38's or larger. Auto vs. manual is another. I'm in Fl and will do 5.13 because I may go to 38 next. I thought I was going to do 35's and changed my mind last minute to 37's. Glad I didn't do 35's. Mine is not a daily driver, maybe 400 miles a month just for fun. I don't want to do this twice, that's another reason I will do 5.13.

I'll probably move to 38's also... I'm not trying to get back to the stock feel, since I felt it was under geared in OD with 33's... I think I'm going to do the 5.13's and report back so the info is out there... hopefully this coming week or next if the shop can get me in...

I have yet to hear someone who did 5.13 wish they did 4.88 instead. I'm still waiting for a shop I feel comfortable with doing it.

I have a Mopar lifted Rubicon with 35x12.5x20 KO2 and mine keeps trying to go to 7th in Florida (which is mostly flat) just going up a highway bypass. I'm a bit perplexed and bothered that the Rubicon advertises that it can fit 35 and it cant handle it and I have to rehear? There should be enough from factory and these 8 speed transmissions should be able to be programmed to not do so.
Any tricks using the Taser Mini that anyone knows?

35's are a minor increase and should only slightly affect the Jeep. Yeah, you'll see 7th a little more but nothing major IMO. If I were you, I'd leave it alone unless it really bothers you... if that's the case, 4.56's would be ideal for a 35 unless you plan to go larger in the future... in that case, leave it alone until you go to 37's or 38's and go with 5.13's...

Same here in flat Texas. Drove me crazy. Was gonna regear, but decided to step back down in tire size instead. Stays in 8th better now. 285/75 Ridge Grapplers. Still good for the trails this Jeep will see.

I chose 5.13’s and currently have 35’s. I’ll likely get 37’s before summer but we’ll see. Love the power and have to slam the brakes hard to the floor before it’ll stall in 4lo..and that’s with a sport transfer case.

As far as mpg go..I hand calucated 14.2 mostly city but didn’t program the gears or tire size until halfway through the tank. And that’s winter gas. My mpg was only increasing too. I was getting 13 with stock gears.

It holds 6th on the free no problem which helps with gas because I only cruise around 65-70.
