I took my 2018 JL in for the Track Bar Bracket recall. The dealer said they had take the whole front suspension apart and take pictures to send to FCA.
I am not a weld inspector but the welds looked solid to me, when I first heard about the recall. Anyway, all is well , FCA came back with a no issues after reviewing the pic's. Just incase some of you are conce
Thats ridiculous...they didn't need to do that. I think they only have to take it apart to reweld...not to take pictures....did they even read the instructions.

It took the next day to see it on the app.
It took 3-4 weeks for it to clear on mine. After 3 weeks I asked my dealer why it was still listed he seemed to take offense to me asking wondering why I was in a hurry. But then it magically cleared shortly after his response. I would guess it's based on the dealer submission.

Has anyone been getting these letters? This just showed up today. I had the inspection and it cleared around 1.5 - 2 months ago. I thought it was funny showing up as an outstanding recall when I looked at Carfax a couple of weeks ago. Now I open the mailbox to see this.

Was your frame number out of the range? Maybe you got it inspected prior to the change where they now take pictures of all of them...not just certain frame # range.

Maybe that is what it is. They told me I had the number 159. I remember that was out of range but they still did pictures of the trackbar weld as I had the first Jeep they did the recall with and wanted to be safe. Are they taking pictures of all the welds now just to be safe?

They take photos off all of them in the recall...even if not in the original range. A lot of people had no frame stamps or non legible ones.

Recall on my Recall ... just received a letter from FCA that my JL needs to go back and have the track bar looked at again. I'm new to Jeep and FCA, is it typically a huge shit show at Jeep on recalls as this will be the FOURTH time I have to take it back for the same recall? I never put on Rustie's bracket or I would have to pull it off in 4-degree weather over the weekend. Now I need to waste more time at the dealer, I have spent more time on recalls on this Jeep than my last 2 4runners and Ridgeline combined.

Man that’s bad. We can only wait for what the NHTSA uncovers. Did you file a official complaint with NHTSA?

there was actually an update to the dealer recall instructions which eliminated the frame number check. So if your vin was identified in the recall, the dealer needs to take the inspection photos and send it to FCA for review, regardless of your frame number range.

What primer and paint is FCA using to refinish after the weld?

Has anyone had trouble getting their welds checked? I just checked with my dealership, for the second time, about the inspection recall on my 18 JLUR. It was manufactured in July, falling within the inspection dates, but the dealership said there’s no recall. Should I pursue this further and with who? Thanks

Did you check your VIN online? This site should list if your vehicle needs the inspection. The dealer can only apply the recall if it's listed there.

The mopar vin checker isnt good enough. Several of us had jeeps with frame and trackbar bracket weld issues that weren't on the list. Get your dealer to check it or go to another. If all else fails post pics here
