My 2018 JLU Rubicon is all stock and I’m averaging 15 mpg , it was better in summer about 16MPG but I’m in Chicago all city driving basically the best average I had was 18 after driving to Michigan, so city traffic is definitely a factorI just purchased a new 2019 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited with the 2.0L eTorque (BSG) mild hybrid engine. I running 91 octane as recommended.
After four tanks of gas, I'm averaging 17.2 mpg (2/3 city, 1/3 highway). I've seen other owners post much higher mpgs? Should I be looking for something? I owned a 2014 Jeep Sarah Unlimited with the V6. It averaged 18.9 mpg.... Any ideas why my mpg is so low? I do not have a heavy foot...
Don't do it. Pay for premium or just run the 87. I pay for 93. The amount of octane booster you'd need to take a tank from 87 to 91 would cost far more than just buying premium in the first place, and you'd have to do math every time you filled up and measure properly in order to ensure you were at the octane level you desired.Has anyone tried using octane booster with 87 octane fuel? Here 93 octane is $.70 more than 87. Have never used it?
