No wrong doing but the engine knows when it’s being tested and alters emissions under test, changing the settings when not under test. Seems legit...

Hopefully it does bring the 3.0 to more Jeeps than just the Grand Cherokee. Might give me reason to get a new one. :)

Unfortunately settlements like this rarely result in anything other than attorneys getting paid (Except for the Volkswagen settlement). The rest of us get to sit and suk on it IMHO.

"In the class action settlement, owners, of 2014 to 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ram EcoDiesels will receive up to $3,075 in compensation for buying the trucks that did not live up to their "EcoDiesel" labels. Lessees and former owners can receive payments of up to $990.

Owners will also receive limited extended warranties of up to 10 years/120,000 miles from the original date of purchase of 4 years/48,000 miles from the date they get their car's emissions software updated."

Lol settling for $800 Million but no, we didn’t do anything wrong at all....

THEN WHY SETTLE?!

Lol
Probably the same reason innocent people take a plea deal for a lesser charge rather than go to court. Not defending FCA or taking a side here but Bosch is the one that wrote the program from my understanding.

It is what it is man. It sucks that another company wrote the program and while you cannot control what others do, when they are employed by your company or contracted out by your company then they are ultimately your responsibility. That’s part of the many risks of outsourcing.

Agreed!! But the settlement was likely a fiscal decision. The fact they did not have to admit wrong doing tells me the EPA didn't have any wrongful intent evidence.

We have built approximately 20 3.0 diesel engines in the last few weeks. These are obviously all for testing but it's a step in the right direction.
Awesome! specifically for Jeeps or do some of those go to Rams as well?

Cool, good to know owners are getting something out of it.
