what is auto park?
Do the manuals not have it?
Is there where the Jeep will park itself?

No, its where the jeep throws itself into park if you try to drive with door open and or seatbelt off I believe. I hate this feature.

As stated above, itā€™s an annoying nanny feature that automatics have. You can work around it by either fastening seatbelt behind you, or lightly touching the brake pedal with left foot while moving. These workarounds come in handy when your working with a trailer, etc.

Only on Automatic transmission. If the door is opened and the seatbelt is unbuckled the transmission will automatically go into park and will not do anything until you place the selector in park and close the door.

This is the result of people getting confused over modern gear selectors and not realizing the vehicle isn't in park and getting out of said vehicle. It has carried over to other FCA vehicles with more traditional gear selectors like the JL...

Oh ok. You thought it parked itself like parallel parking in the Lexus.

I never thought that. Its a safety feature that some people find annoying though.

I think she meant ā€œIā€ instead of ā€œyou.ā€ Haha.

oops, lol. I think Jeep can get away with it if they installed a parallel parking feature on the Grand Cherokee, but would start an open revolt if they tried that on the wrangler. ;)

I got out of my motor home once without putting it neutral or the air brake. Very scary when you see your 40 foot bus starting to drive away without you.

Then there was the time my dog put it in reverse (push button transmission on driverā€™s left armrest) while I was hooking up a trailer. I did have the brake on that time, otherwise it would have ended up in a lake.

But yes, nanny features are annoying. Intended to punish everyone for the occasional mistakes we make.
