Check out this video and let me know if anyone else has noticed this. The oil pressure goes up and down and is not RPM dependent. Maybe more load dependent but just cruising can cause it to go up and down. It goes as low as 17 psi while driving and as high as 50 psi.

Interesting! Iā€™ll have to check mine and see what happens.
Please do. I have never seen oil pressure behave like this on any other vehicle. Maybe a bad sensor?

Mine is the exact same.
At idle it is around 17, accelerating goes up to 48.

Does it go up and down while cruising?

Thanks for the info. I showed the video to the dealer and rep said it was fine. Glad to know others are similar.

Mine behaves the same way since new. Now just over 1000 miles and it seems to spend more time around 50psi than around 20psi. this still bugs me as I can't imagine the reason for this pressure reading this way unless there is an issue.

I read in the owners manual that there is a low oil pressure light and I've never seen that light up.

It only appears to go up when youā€™re in boost. Mine does it as well, I just figured turbos just increase oil pressure.

My Hemi Charger did the same. Lower oil pressure at idle, then a higher value under load and cruising.

cruise control on, 55-58 mph, 7th gear, climbing a slight incline and it goes up to 48, down hill its at 18. Flat stretch and its somewhere in between and constantly changing. Seems normal to me. 5K miles to date, oil was changed at 4K.

FWIW ā€” V6 averages around 32 PSI, at times (normally after backing off from accelerating) I see it jump upwards of 60, then back down to normal.

I noticed this as well, you can almost hear a change in the engine sound.

I will have it on cruise at the same speed and it will go up and down, i noticed the mog will do yhr same, i cant watch both but i am willing to be when the preassure drops the fuel economy is great, the moment it goes up and drops tremendously.

I also believe that it is cause by the turbo providing more boost.

My 2.0 normally does the same thing. It is not unusual. It goes from 22 when coasting to 49 with throttle gently applied. I donā€™t see any issue with this.
