Just noticed these wires connected to my windshield the other day, anybody know what they're for? They're just to the left of the ACC/FCW module behind the rearview mirror. I have yet to attempt to trace where the wires go, thought I'd throw it out there hoping someone can save me the trouble.

Speak of the devil. Today, we were posting back and forth about the mystery windshield with the two wires. So, apparently the mystery windshield is for the 2019 JL.

These things started showing up back in the spring. Apparently they knew they would need to have a supply on hand. Well at least now we know.

Rob, when you get a chance, could you please take a decent picture of the markings on the windshield and post here. You will find, on lower corner of the windshield. I would like for my JL data base and I'm sure other's he, would also like to see the markings;

Probably for the adaptive cruise control module.
That was my first thought, but the ACC module isn't connected to the windshield and has plenty of wiring from the top of where it's mounted, so I don't think that's the case.

Those are the wires/ connection points for the force field. All 2019's have a force field.

This force field wards off pebbles/rocks and such that are known to so easily break the JL's windshield.

Of course I'm bull chitting..

Might be there to provide constant heat to glass area around ACC. Similar to rear window defrost. Or not.

I had a Land Rover Discovery LR2. Plagued with problems from the start but the one thing that worked like a charm was the heated windshield. Had tiny near invisible wires running throughout the whole thing. Would let me slide off a thick layer of ice accumulated overnight with just one push of a finger. Magical in a Chicago winter. Everything else sucked but that windshield was great. Never had to replace it but I was told it cost fortune.

Winner! I took a closer look and it does look like there's a defroster grid on the windshield, just on the small portion where the ACC module is. Makes sense I suppose.
