I grew up skiing Colorado with a '74 Camaro - no chains, no snow tires. Nothing but All Seasons and a feel for how the thing would behave. I doubt I'd be so comfortable now, tho!I remember when cars were big and rear wheel drive, you put snow tires on the back and some weight in the trunk...I did the same with my 2wd truck when I was stationed in Colorado, i never saw so much snow and ice, even coming from ohio, and i never recall getting stuck. Most people think 4WD is a necessity here, and I have jumped on that bandwagon, yet I used a 2wd truck here for 5 years with no difficulty at all. Just gotta know what you're doing.
Coming from Maine I can say, sometimes a tuned foot just isn't enough on hills.I grew up skiing Colorado with a '74 Camaro - no chains, no snow tires. Nothing but All Seasons and a feel for how the thing would behave. I doubt I'd be so comfortable now, tho!
That sounds like more fun than an ‘85 Chrysler Fifth Avenue...I grew up skiing Colorado with a '74 Camaro - no chains, no snow tires. Nothing but All Seasons and a feel for how the thing would behave. I doubt I'd be so comfortable now, tho!

I spent many a winter in my 1980 Ford Fiesta and know how stable the fwd can be, but more so than a Scooby-Doo?I never had snow tires on my 94 Sentra coupe, was a snow tank, never got stuck in 6 winters with that car and on just all seasons. I remember passing Scooby Doos just as stable as you please![]()
