I can't believe their poor quality control, even w/robotics now-a-days.

What's the date of manufacture of your JL?

Feeling better everyday about my 2018 being bought back.
Hopefully the 2019s will be cleaner

Damn!

Ya, mine is 07/30.

You would think that by August of 2018, almost a full year of making the JL, that they would of had their line up and running w/o a hitch, especially when it comes to their robotics, but I guess not.

I'm afraid to see what my frame looks like when I remove my front plastic bumper.

You might check to see if they will at least fix the welds

I went to the stealership and they made an appointment for next friday to take pics and open up a complaint with fca to see if they would be covered under warranty. The service guy there did ask if i installed the new bumper yet or not. I said no and he said ok good, fca might void your warranty and not cover them if you installed an aftermarket bumper:facepalm: lol.

They better fix the welds. If not, theres going to be an issue.

Wow, looks like a cheap, backyard fix, after someone tried to repair a totaled out car. 20/20 TV News Special.

Wow that's insane. Good thing you didn't need your bumper for anything yet

Euro JEEP, & MORTON, Thanks for looping us in!

Took it to stealership. Made appointment for next friday.

They said they will take pics and forward them to corporate and see if they will cover it under warranty.

Is this a known issue? I searched and all that came up was the track bar welds we all know about.

I have yet to see this issue with the front of the frame brought up unless i missed it.
Highonlyfe,

We're sorry to hear about this, and please send us a PM with your VIN and dealer information so we can look into this further.

FCA could and should be handling this differently. And to think FCA is only recalling the track bar welds? FCA only seems to be recalling the bare minimum with the frames. There was another thread where someone else had holes melted through parts of their frame and poor welds. FCA knows they have bad frames out in the wild with much more then just the defective track bar bracket welds. They recall, have owners go in for a inspection picture and clear or repair the defective welds at the track bar only. How bad are welds in other areas of the frame, in areas where people don't look or can't see? It's going to be a mainstream media story one day and the publicity will not be good. Time to wake up FCA..the skeleton is out of the closet.

In my opinion, Subaru handled their frame issue correctly. Subaru admitted to having frame weld deficiencies even though the defective area, where the lack of welds were, would have never been noticed. The area is inside the B-pillar, totally hidden, no one would have ever known. Subaru was concerned about safety and probably liability. They voluntarily issued a buy-back for every vehicle that is defective. This proactive solution will keep customers safe and happy. It also shows show future customers they care about their products and customers. This will build loyalty.
