FCA US has released its June sales figures and Jeep sales continue setting new records. The Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Patriot, Jeep Compass, and Jeep Renegade each had their best June sales ever. This is particularly impressive considering the Patriot and Compass models are nearly at the end their model lives.

The Wrangler once again cleared twenty thousand, with 20,060 units sold. This is up 5% from last June and brings the year-to-date figure to 100,355 sold.

Impressive... and these stats should answer everyone who ends up thinking FCA doesn't change enough with the JL Wrangler compared to the JK. When you're selling 20k+ cars a month, it makes sense to try and not mess with that success by going too radical with the changes.

Amazing. With sales like this you have to wonder why even risk it with a new model? Purely for CAFE reasons?

It's possible there's even more sales upside with the improvements that will be made with the JL models. There'll be more engine choices with the new turbo 4 model and the diesel coming to North America. Also better MPG for the V6 probably. And new and better 8 speed auto. And those are the things we know so far. I'm sure there'll be other improvements we'll find out about which could make the Wrangler even more popular.
