What is your JL's MFG date? And what is the MFG date of the one that is leaking in the other thread?
Great question, let me look mine up

So these are going to be just like the old 4L! How nostalgic

Nothing to fix- it's a Jeep thing.

Bad casting or gasket or came loose from heat cycling...

Dont hate! I put 259k miles on one! And still ran fine , just needed to be honed and re-ringed
No hate at all. Just glad nothing has changed.. The ol 4L was pretty bullet proof.. but certainly not leak proof in the process. Likely every single one produced had a rear main leak.

Is this the correct part # for the rear seal?

Has the part changed from the previous 3.6 or is it the same for the updated 3.6 with VVL/EGR?

My TJ main seal went out a few times and it only had 45k on it

Not sure if it changed
I have someone whose works at FCA corporate also checking to see if they can get it to me sooner.

Isn’t this the same 3.6L that’s in other FCA vehicles since 2016? No parts seems odd unless it’s truly unique to the JL.
The 3.6 V6 goes back at least to the 2012 model year. My wifes 2012 Journey has the same Pentastar 3.6L V6. Saying they have no/few parts for that engine is BS on the dealers part.

That was my thought as well
I was there when the dealership called to check on the parts. I have someone who works at FCA corporate checking to see what the hold up is.

Supper frustrating!

The rear main seal may be the same as the JK engine but lots of internal parts are much different, its the same engine but different.
