Let's think outside the box together.

Have you swapped in Ultimate Dana 60's?

I understand the swap. I'm interested in asking people who have done the swap specific questions. :)
I’ll grab the popcorn and step aside! Interested as well, as I can’t say it’s the first thing on my list or in the immediate future, but see it as a possibility long term.

I'll eat the popcorn.

The long term upgrades need those of us who step forward and do.

Internet warriors need not apply. :)

Thanks for sharing our videos!
We have debated on paying the d44 until it breaks or swapping out to some Dynatrac 60/60 with 5.13 and 40s or 42s because why the hell not at this point. Lol

Check out what dynactrac is already offering for axles.

If I was running 37’s or bigger, I would definitely look at 60’s. Last JK we had with 37’s got by with a Pro Rock 44 with RCV shafts and a RockJock semi float 60, but my TJ on 40’s rocked 60’s front and rear. Nothing ruins a off-road trip faster than shattered parts. Stronger axles give you the confidence to drop the hammer when needed.

You're not going to find much help here, Andy....this is more of a Pirate question. Most of the folks here are doing bolt ons.
Ultimate Dana 60's are bolt ons. :)

Dookey, Is this Jeep build going to take as long as your last? I haven't been in this world in a while I just remember watching the dookey build on Pirate back in the day...

I thought you guys were out of Kansas?

Anyway...good to see you. Like I said, go to Pirate. This place and the 'other' JL forum doesn't have any real tech. :( Heck, half the participants think a LSD and traction control are just as good as real lockers, LOL.

Hey, side note, any major upgrades to the 3speed Hero cases since inception? You probably don't remember me, but I bought two of your first run of those cases and haven't put them in either project yet. Just want to make sure there's nothing that needs upgrading before putting them to use. I've got one with a TH350 adapter and the other is a 700R4. Both are passenger drop 27 spline inputs. Both gear ratios were 5.44 and 2.5 with 1410 flanges and cable shifters...one unit had VSS....my order number was: #20096470 if that helps.

TWF is in Kansas for the wheel and tire division. Our Hero plant is in Wisconsin. I'm in Thornton. I needed a change of scenery. Kansas was getting boring after 39 years.

There are quite a few changes to the Hero case that we've learned over the years. There are still people running them in the same configuration as yours without issue. We've just learned some stuff from people using and abusing the case outside what we knew was possible.

Absolutely not. I won't do another one that way. I'm weighing my options on mostly bolt on stuff to cut down on the Dookey factor.

So nothing I *need* to upgrade at this point?
All of it really depends on how you plan to use the case. Do you plan on shifting at triple digit speeds? That kind of stuff.

The only thing I would definitely change is the output seal housings. Send me your address and I'll send some to you.
