I cant wait for the Mopar intake to be released!! I def will cut out a hole, however, would have it "professionally" installed. This way if they screw it up they own it. I wonder how much the dealer will charge to install the intake.

I am waiting for it as well. Had one on my JK and loved it. Very interested in the install on the JL. Latest release info is November.

Donā€™t think itā€™s really a ā€œcold air intakeā€. Itā€™s mainly to re-route the air intake higher to allow for deeper water excursions

How much deeper are you able to get with the snorkel installed?

Pretty deep actually. Like the 3rd row in the mall parking lot. Just make sure to also have a roof top tent, Jerry cans, and a trail trash bag swinging from your spare tire every day of the week too.

You wouldnā€™t believe the amount of guys that have to ā€œoverlandā€ it all the way to the kiss and go lane of my kidā€™s school. I guess the extra water, awning, and tent would be great for those excruciating pick up times.

Snorkels aren't used as much for deep water as they are for cooler, cleaner air because the snorkels intake is often just above the road dust level and the air entering the engine from there is much cooler than the inlet under the hood. Cooler air means better performance. A snorkel is a real Cold Air Intake. Most CAI don't allow air any cooler than the factory intake opening.

You do not need to cut a hole for MOPAR CAI.

CAI and Snorkel that works with it is 2 separate parts.
