Good gravy what kind of abuse do they put their Jeep through? Do they just land on the rear bumper off a rock and say, "This bumper sux!" or am I overreacting?
The bumper does take quite a beating, but they do have a point. It is apparently much less stout than the Mopar front steel bumper.

Watch their videos though. They are beating the :swear::swear: outta that JL. With very few exceptions, it just rolls with the punches. :muscle::clap:

My company is having a lil social gathering tomorrow, including a pumpkin carving contest. I'm thinking about smashing TF out of pumpkin, I mean completely obliterating it, then submitting it with a title of "morale".
You must not like working there then, lol!

@Zazoh Just a tiny little bit off center... Now I'm gonna have to sell the Jeep!
It's funny. I'm mildly obsessive that way. I noticed it on the way to drop off the kids this morning while at the light. I wear prescription glasses and attributed it to parallax -- there are many other things that bother me.

I like looking at the digital MPH, but find it a waste as the analog speedometer is there, and then customizing the dashboard is the same, I don't want to duplicate anything and also have it show on Uconnect screen. Thus, I am constantly changing settings to get the option with lest amount of redundancy.

Okay I don't think I'm overreacting with the type of off-roading they do, lol. Chris... with normal driving and off-roading you shouldn't have to worry about the OEM Steel bumpers

Of course not. I even tried to allude to that. They abuse that thing way more than any of us would I think. And that's OK! :like:

My issue is that I wanted the steel bumper pair - I have the plastic Sport ones because steel ones are only available on the Rubicons. The front bumper offers aesthetic, a winch mounting point, and a grille guard. The rear bumper is not available anywhere that I can tell, and offers, based on their experience, not a whole lot of protection. I have yet to see any bumpers other than the Mopar ones that I like, front or rear.

I am curious as to whether a steel Mopar rear bumper is worth the cost based on how much trouble it gave them. I.e. how would a plastic one have fared in those conditions?

I'm checking a few of them out.

They're using that Jeep for what they bought it for all right lol. I'm willing to bet they're putting their Jeep above and beyond 90% of users, so I just disagree with the term "Sucks"

Sure they've found a bumper that works better for their uses and that's good for them.

But imagine if I walk into your apartment with a sledge hammer and took a good swing at your coffee table, and then telling you it sucked because it broke...
