Funny, I was looking at this thread yesterday while at discount tire. I had 35s (315/70R17 KO2s) mounted because I'm lifting it this weekend. The guys at discount tire got a kick out of it because they were convinced it wasn't going to work. My wheels aren't steelies though. They're actually Recon Rubicon wheels which, dimensionally, are the same as the JL wheels that aren't steelies. But here's a picture. No rub at full turns or hitting speed bumps kind of fast. I'm running 30psi to make full tread contact. Also, I took out the plastic pieces that fill in the void between the front bumper and fenders and threw on a Rough Country spare tire relo mount. The spare tire sits perfectly on the little rubber spare tire bump stops.

BADASS!!
Newbie question for you: "I'm running 30psi to make full tread contact." Is that to make the tires wear more evenly, give a smoother ride, both, other? Also, does that impact gas mileage (downward?) at all? Thanks!

Whether or not you’ll get rubbing depends on the tire. It seems that most of the folks going with KO2’s are fine. Both before and after the lift I had rubbing on the lower control arms at full lock. This was stock wheels, and 315/70/17 Cooper STT pro’s. Spacers solved that issue.

I just got 318/70R17s put on my Sport S. It won't get a lift until tomorrow. As mentioned before, I had to remove the plastic valance forward of the front fenders but there it is. My wheels have an offset of -12mm and 4.5inches of backspacing.

I will soon be going with a RC 2.5” budget lift on a stock JLU Sahara using the 18” factory rims so what is a good 35” tire I can run that is smooth and quiet rolling down the highway plus give me some good traction in the sand and mud when I do get off road

35 x 12.5 x 17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on stock Rubicon JL wheels with no lift or spacers. Runs absolutely fine. No rub and good clearance for city driving.

Any rub when flexing? Also what are you using for spare tire mount?

Nothing special for spare tire mount. Fitted well without any changes on Rubicon with plastic bumper. No rub so far.

I figured with taller and wider tire on stock wheel, third brake light bracket and two bump stops on the tail gate will be in way.

I have a JLU Sahara with 18” stock rims so from what I can gather is I can’t go above a 33” tire unless I do a lift, I would love to put new rubber on but kinda wanted 35” but that requires a lift
I put 9X20 XD825 wheels and Toyo 35X12.5R20 Open Country AT II tires and picture is with out lift. I did install 2 inch MOPAR lift last week. Second picture with lift.

That looks great both before and after. I have 2 questions. Did you have rubbing before the lift and can you post a side profile picture of the jeep?
