I am at a dealership planning to take out jLU sport s for 38065 plus taxes.
And the dealership is saying 72% residual with .00308 MF 10k miles for 39 mos lease for $497/ month.
Is this a good lease?
Thanks

I don't lease, especially a vehicle like wrangler that's meant to be roughed up. The wranglers also depreciate less than typical vehicles. If I had a business for tax write-offs I'd still use the 1% rule. Monthly payments should not exceed 1% of msrp...in this case $410 a month.

I've seen some members here post there lease deals under $400 and msrp was similar to yours.

Debating whether to buy or lease..
If ppl think lease number looks good, then I will go with lease.

Where are you that a dealership is open on Sunday.

Also if you’re asking for advice now on leasing or buying while sitting at the dealership passing numbers back and forth with the same mgr it’s too late.

Leased once and I’ll never do it again. I put too many miles on my cars. Ask yourself do you want to keep this for 5 or more years and how much do you plan on driving it?

That will determine whether you should lease or buy. Also most people are getting 10%-12% off MSRP, so price is good. Doc fee is too high.

72% residual after 39months doesn’t sound right. I’d check the numbers again.

As I understand it in a lease you pay the percentage of the vehicle cost minus the residual value based on MSRP.

That’s about $12000. Divide that by 39 months and you get $307. So $400 a month is too much.

That money factor is equivalent to 9.2% interest rate. Too high unless you have bad credit.

Guys, I think he’s out enjoying his new Jeep. Either way, if it worked for him then great.

OP...welcome to Jeep ownership.

All

Thank you so much for your timely advice.
I finalized 399/month with 12k miles/yr for 39 months with first month payment down. The price includes GA taxes and all the fees.

This is my first jeep, if I/family like it then I may get a rubicon next time.

Fwiw, the options include
24s,
Auto,
Tech group,
Convenience group,
All weather mats,
Anti spin diff,
Blk freedom top,
17" polished granite wheels.

Once again thank you all, as his forum helped me to learn a lot about Jeeps.

Hi
I was at Ed Voyles Jeep at Marietta, GA.
I don't drive much (I have only put ~40k miles on my X5 during last 9 years, just on theory vac trips) so I thought I will go for lease this time.
